Jake Delhomme would suck as a back-up!

As a starter perhaps not, but as a backup, sure. How many teams have backups who can lead the team as effectively as the starter?

If by leading a team effectively you mean throwing to the other team, then yeah. Face it, Jake is finished. He won't be good as a backup. Any time he has to go back under center, it'll be disaster with turnover after turnover. If you want someone that knows the playbook well and has experience, keep McCown. Saving 1 mil just by keeping him is just stupid.

Ummm......I'm sure JaMarcus Russell (there is a reason why he isn't the starter right now despite being a 1st round pick last year), Feeley, Carr (there is a reason why we got rid of him & why we went 7-9 when Jake went down & Carr played), & few others are far worse than Jake. Jake is terrible lately, but there are others worse than him. It's fine you think Jake is terrible lately, but to deny there are other worse than him is being a little too biased. Sorry, but I can't see Jake as being the only worse QB than any other in the NFL, even the backup. Guess you think Grossman is better, huh? :P

Guess you miss the game against the Cards, home against Atlanta, & at Tampa where Jake was playing. He didn't lose the games for them there, did he?

They took the ball out of his hands in those games, give it up dude... Jake SUCKS

He only had 2 games where he had more TDs than INTs. The Arizona game and the home Atlanta game. That Tampa game you mentioned.. 1 TD and 2 INTs. lol You = FAIL.

Another blind poster that rufuses to see reality because his love for one player rather than love for winning knows no bounds.

Prove any of that? I love the Panthers, have embraced Moore as the starter based on his performance and acknowledge that jake isn't starter material right now. Why not deal with reality instead of always coloring people with the biased stereotypical fashion you do to everyone who disagrees with you.

You mean like you did with your first response to me?

The difference you don't ever look at anything and change your opinion. You are a hater and will remain so no matter. I on the only hand wasn't sold on Moore based on his history but have changed my opinion based on new information. I will look at new information and am open to change my mind. Yours is always completely shut and made up. A big difference.

Jake wasn't starter material since his first 4 interception game against Oakland.

He's been hidden very well by Double Trouble.

I know didn't we just run up the middle of their defense from one end zone to the other. I don't know if Jake was in the game that drive.

Hey give Jake credit. He actually hit Smith for a 2 yard gain on that drive. That's what you look for in a backup.

Pretty ignorant statement to say the least. I guess the game winning drives against New Orleans and Green Bay and his comeback against the Giants ruined by a Kasay miss, all occurred before the Oakland game.

    • That's likely going to tell the story. He'll have two weeks to prepare, so no excuses.
    • You don't rotate offensive linemen dude shown me one time thats happened for us that wasnt because of a player leaving due to injury or a jumbo package ill wait.
    • I didn't say I thought throwing it was a bad decision, I said I thought not running those 3-5 yard routes to pick up the 1st down wasn't a great call.  Yes the play worked out, but I didn't love the play call, it's like when a bad shooter is taking a 3 and you're yelling "no no no" as they're going up and then they make it so it worked out. That's still gambling on them to make the play and I take no issue with that. But I just went and watched the play again, we had T-Mac and XL running downfield crossing routes, Coker went in motion behind the LOS and then moved up a yard or two after the snap but not even past the LOS, Sanders chipped the DE and then ran a drag route right long the LOS. The play worked out, but I don't really like that particular play call and route tree with the game on the line on a 4th and 2.  If you want to send one route downfield as an option that's fine, but there were only 2 realistic target options with that route tree and they were both 15-20 yards downfield. This is just before Bryce is going to throw it.   You have 2 players off screen downfield, one player who ran a route that never had a chance to get open and didn't even get to the 1st down line, another player just at the line to gain but late in the route because of a chip (and the worst pass catcher of the 4). Do you really think that was a "good play call" in that situation?
