Na'ill Diggs extended

Honestly, Connor hasn't really impressed me very much.

Then again we haven't seen that much of him on the field. I refuse to believe that it is because he is lacking the ability to excel at the position though.

You can never know when Foxy is running the team;

loyalty>ability to produce

Tyrell Sutton and Captain Munnerlynn beg to differ. Conner had a golden chance to show his stuff with all the injuries the Panthers had this year.

All around good move in my mind.

Actually makes him cheaper for the present and if he can actually play out the four extra years I would be stunned. As someone stated his basic MUST be near the vet minimum, so he cleary enjoys it here.

This kind of deal means someone still has the chance to take his place AND we keep Diggs in the process. Other than the impending Davis extension and Beason contracts, we must be dirt cheap at the position, allowing someone to move into the starting line up and allow Diggs to continue playing important roles in reserve.

Of course someone has to beat him out of the spot first, which is no mean feat.

anyone notice how little he has been seeing playtime the last few weeks? up until his injury he was seeing 45-50 plays per game but the last few it's only been about 15 or so.

i think it's a good thing that we are going to keep him around but it's looking like we don't need him as much as we used to. probably a good thing for him to keep him fresh and healthier.

i just noticed in the 2nd half of the giants game he didn't play at all. still hurting?

Sutton and Captain may beg to differ this year, but the past has shown us otherwise.

I don't know if he had a golden chance, but sure, he had the opportunity. James just proved to play lights-out later on as he got more comfortable at the spot.

I may be reaching here, and don't get me wrong I'm glad Anderson showed how effective he can be, but I can't shake the feeling that the only reason he took the most snaps from the start is because he has had a longer tenure here than Connor.

no, anderson got the chance because the only position conner can play is MLB because he is slow as hell and has no lateral movement and should be traded to a 3-4 team.

    • I probably would have become a casual Hornets fan if Cooper ended up there, but the NBA just solidified my apathy for its product. Hornets also got shafted when Lakers got cold feet on the Mark Williams trade. NBA is corrupt and that alien-headed Silver is the kingpin.
    • Most analysts from what I've seen are projecting next year's cap as closer to $298M. We saw a $24M increase this season, $31M increase last season, and $16M prior to that. There's also the inevitable cap casualties... A'Shawn Robinson being cut saves the team $8.5M. Damien Lewis would save $9M. BB3, Jewell, PJ2 all would save $5M each. Tremble and Mike Jackson could save $4M each. It wouldn't surprise me to see the team make a few moves that end up giving them closer to $50M in cap space to start 2026. I'm less worried about next year's cap space due to the upcoming UFAs for the team: TMo, AT, Tuttle, Wonnum, Nijman, Mays, Corbett, BC, Dowdle, Rozeboom, Martin, Rhattigan, Jansen, Scott... the only FAs I'm seeing on Spotrac outside of TMo that are must keeps are ERFAs Coker + Demani (so long as TMo's knee is fine, of course). 2027 on the other hand is going to be the offseason for Bryce's bonus option with Icky being the most significant UFA. PJ2, A'Shawn, Josey, MJackson, Tremble, Dalton, DJ Johnson, Zavala, and Bartholomew are the only other current FAs then. I'm of the opinion that they are all in on next season and if it doesn't go well, it's being blown up and starting from scratch. They're currently estimated to have $130M in free cap space in 2027.
