alright, you don’t read

Dudes who go to internet message boards to chat about sports on the regular aren’t casuals. You’re just being angry tonight so you are lashing out at others and name calling folks to feel better. Sorry for whatever you’re going through.

I guess I am getting older now but these things matter to me.  No one knows what the super conferences will look like or if they are any better.  Bet not

The more I think of it, the more I think that at some point there will be just a group of teams that run their own thing, independent of the NCAA. Maybe something similar in some ways to Premier League. I'm not sure how it would work, but it's reasonable to believe that since this is all about money, then what do the top tier programs gain from sharing their money with the Northwesterns, Wake Forests and Vanderbilts out there?

Yeah super conferences suck. As much as i despise the UNCs and Dukes - the loss of what makes college sports so special is what’s going to suck. We can all thank ESPN.

    • I mean, if Moore really wants out, then it would behoove the Bears to make it happen sooner than later. X is a lot younger and cheaper, and may be a better fit for Johnson's musings than a disgruntled, unnecessary, overpaid vet. If they can dump his salary and maybe get a fourth or so in return, it may be worth it to them. As for development, I'm not concerned. You're talking about a seeming bust, a day three guy and a UDFA. They are developing relative to their ceilings. I doubt any of them will ever command the coverage, money, or the respect that Moore has acquired. He's a tier above them. Yes, even X.
    • IMO, if Ceedee plays against us, the game probably goes the other way. Same with Tyreek Hill and the Dolphins. Our team just isn't designed to beat teams with two high level receivers like that. But when you look at the league, how many teams really have two guys of that caliber?  There's nothing wrong with defensive adjustments, but sometimes I think a lot of fans want Evero to call a different play like a game on madden, and defensive football just isn't like that. That said, I thought we did a much better job this season against the Cowboys of flipping Jaycee and at least making them work for it, opposed to last season when they literally just lined CeeDee up on the other side of the field every single snap.  For us to just straight up switch to consistent man coverage, or a different zone, or whatever, we likely would consistently need different personnel on the field. Doing it a few times a game is a gamble and can work, but if we consistently run man coverage against the Cowboys, eventually a RB is going to beat a linebacker, or something of that nature with our personnel. Part of the reason Evero likes this scheme is that, while we have our defaults and presets, what we do is very multiple, and you can do a lot of different things pre and post snap. We are a challenging defense to read. But as you said, if guys are getting beat, it doesn't really matter what you call.
