Is it possible to play any dirtier than the saints defense just played?

The Saints is in the super bowl and that the way it is.

Bottom line is that Manning and other guys in the Colts roster been to the super bowl and know how to deal with the pressure of playing in the super bowl. I might give the Saints a chance if they were playing in the Super Dome but its in Miami.

I hope the Saints use the same strategy as they did Favre. Boarderline dirty hit on any quarterback might fly but not with Manning. Manning is up there with Brady in term of refs protection.

The Colts beat 2 medicore teams... I seem to remember the 8-8 Panthers defeating both of your playoff opponents, you remember that? I thought the game was called for the home team, which in the playoffs is how it should be. I do think going for a QB legs is cheap and illegal (Tom Brady Rule) as for the 4th and 1, clearly he didnt make it and pretty much decided the game. What referee is going stick his neck out for that call in overtime? The Saints will lose because they have won their superbowl! They also cant stop the run or passing game.

One thing I've noticed with our resident bagheads is how they celebrate a victory. Not by celebrating with friends and family but RUNNING to the computer and the "Panther Huddle". Notice against the Cardinals they were posting before the game ended, Drewbreesisgod must have had that losing feeling (you know Aint fans, the one you've had since '67) and then he said "adios mofu" along with his sad sob story. Last week against the Vikings, it seems the "trolls" were thinking "oh crap" but the Saints found a way to win. My hats off to THE SAINTS, not to our local village idiots. Do you guys come here for some sorta validation, for winning... finally? Its probably because the real Saint fans on Saintsreport think you are idiots... well we do also. I guess we just tolerate you more than most.

The only thing that really shocked me was the slam by Hargrove which was penalized and the the lower leg tackle that injured Favre and wasn't penalized.

The Saints shouldn't of won but they did. Hopefully we won't have to hear that much about it.

Saints won fair and square..

You see Brady take those hits and you call it Tom Brady favoritism. Make up your mind.

Here's to the Colts winning though.

This...

omg, this thread sucks...!

The Saints defense didn't play any dirtier than the Vikings.. That End around where Favre got hit was called a penalty.. When the Saints called a similar play on the next set of downs, Brees got hit JUST LIKE FAVRE, but no penalty..

The Saints just got to the QB and put hits on the QB.. if we did that, we'd finally think we've made it back to a top 5 defense... PUT HITS ON THE QB DEFENSE!

Yes, Favre got hit when the guy was on the ground, but the tackle put him on the ground. How do you expect the guy should have reacted? Stop playing, get up, and after 6 - 7 seconds pass... get involved in the play again?

f**k the NFL and all this bullshit.. quit hating. Some of these rules just aren't fair to the defensive players. Get over it.

Y'all are some hating fools around here... at least stay consistent. (a la, Brady Favoritism, but where's that hate now?)

whole lot of whining going on here.

saints didn't deserve the win.

don't like it? go cry on one of those lame saints boards.

I don't see how any Saints fan can wait this long for this to happen to their team and then complain about people saying they cheated to get there. Who the eff cares? Yes, we cheated and the Vikes gave the game away to us, but we finally made it!

    • Now now now, I wouldn't say there is no logic, but there's just not a lot of in-depth thought put into Barnwell's  "analysis." Now to be fair to him (and other national writers), pre-season team rankings are basically clickbait. And...Barnwell, himself, said that "there's a lot of projection here." He basically admits that he doesn't know how the hell things are going to turn out with our receiver group. He also said that "I find myself" more intrigued by Coker than Legette; that does not mean that he said that fans should be, or that Coker will even be better than Legette (regardless of ESPN's per-route-run stat). So, yeah, Barnwell said some things, but even he has to basically admit that he doesn't know how bad or good that our playmakers will be in 2025.  Overall, what Barnwell is basically thinking is that the Panthers have gotten worse at the offensive skill positions, and baked into that is that others have gotten better. That's the argument in July (meaning, please don't give this any more weight than it's due). I would personally be surprised (not shocked) if we end up worse than the Titans, Pats and Giants at least. Once you throw in the Bills, Giants, Jets, Steelers, and even the Chargers, I personally think there are several teams' skill groups that may end up ranked lower than ours by the end of 2025.  @kungfoodudeis one of my dudes, but like others he is over the tipping point. He's had enough. Seeing is believing. I will say this though: Barnwell's piece is less about logic than just good ol' opinion. And to be honest, he might as well be a Huddler throwing out sh¡t in the summer based upon nothing but good feels or bad feels.  Our offense as a whole (just like any other team's) is going to depend upon the play of the O-line and especially the QB. How you can even rank the skill positions without expressly baking those two things in the cake is beyond me. I would dare say that that's not even logical.
    • Football is not the professional sport where timidness and apprehension are justly rewarded.
    • Bryce Young had a super high floor definitely at least won't be a bust safe pick we allegedly had seen in some time.......and went on to have one of the worst rookie seasons of all time.  They are all lotto picks.  And that is especially true for whatever they will be day 1 in the NFL.  I don't think Tmac is a sure thing year 1.  It's not like we watched him do his thing in the SEC.  He was a PAC12 guy.  I'm sure it will take time
