While neither are elite, we are one week into the season... I would argue a fair amount of our wins/close losses in the playoffs last year were thanks to our Gs. Let's wait until we are a couple months in to decide. While I would love an elite G, they aren't going to be traded away unless they have an awful contract

And our D (TDA/orlov) have done them no favors.

For this team to win a cup. Koochie has to become the guy.

I just don’t see that in near future. Wad has completely fuged us with his lack of priority on goalie in my opinion. We have a golden window and it’s criminal to ignore this glaring need every year

There are no goalies to even consider trading for right now so we are where we are, you could even say "we like our group."  😂

Maybe come the trade deadline if all 3 of our goalies are playing average and below we may see something, but goalies are a high priority for many teams - we have put a lot of faith in Koochie becoming that guy for us.  Let's hope it works out....

With how ass we are would a goalie even help now?

As much as I hate to admit it the way we have been leaking grade A chances it's not a surprise our goalies have sucked.

I think Aho/Svechnikov will be healthy soon ill hold judgment until we ice our bedt lineup

    • I wonder if they'd consider trading Rasheed Walker to a team that needs tackle help but missed out in the draft?
    • LOL. This is such a Panthers fan take.  Anyone who falls to us must suck because some other team didn't take them before.  We got lucky with Lemon, Thieneman, and Freeling all falling to us (honestly any of the three is a A+) but the WR and S positions are much deeper than the LT position in this draft.  We got the LT w/ the most upside at 19.  Mauigoa played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the nfl.  Spano played RT in college and some think he is a guard in the NFL due to short arms.  Blake Miller played RT in college and is not as good as Freeling.  Proctor is a true LT but his ability to handle quick edge's worries me (see Icky).  Freeling is a true LT and a gifted pass protector.  Many think he has a very high ceiling and will benefit from not having to start right away.  This is how you build a franchise.
    • After watching Cam get killed for years behind a bad Oline and having to watch the 2021 and 2023 Olines I will never complain about this team putting resources into that spot.  We got a true LT who could really push Rasheed Walker for the day 1 job. Go back and watch Iceky's draft profile from 2022 and all the talk was Ickey would be an all-pro guard in a zone blocking scheme, but he could play LT in a gap power run scheme. That's why Ickey looked really good when Wilks took over and we just started running gap run plays and just mauled people up front but under Canales we've been more of a zone running team. Ickey can survive at LT with his pass blocking but his true strength will always be his ability to just move guys in the run game and that's a skill set that's better used at guard.  Take another OT later on day 3 to learn from Moton to take over RT in a couple of years and let Walker and Freeling battle it out for the day 1 LT job then next offseason trade one of Hunt of Lewis and let Ickey move inside to guard.
