NFC South Next Season

Recommended Posts

Nah I don't want a brees injury to be your excuse for why you don't win the next 12 superbowls or whatever your lofty expectations are these days. However if it were to happen I will be amused solely at your reactions to it. You guys would do so much bellyaching about how dirty the Vikings players are which would be very ironic considering how open your D coordinator is about trying to hurt people and how your star safety has already talked about favres ankle being the target. Saint J said it would be an offensive linemens fault if something like that happened and he wouldn't get mad at the player who did it (yeah right!!!)

Personally, I believe the NFC South will easily be the best, most exciting division in football next season.

Think about it this…

For the NFC offenses…

The Saints have the league's best passing attack.

We have the league's best running game.

The Falcons have a consistent passing and running game.

The Bucs could surprise us with a legit passing and rushing game.

For the defenses…

The Saints have one of the league's most explosive defenses.

We have one of the league's most physical D's.

The Falcons are very consistent on defense too.

The Bucs have great defensive potential.

And even for special teams…

The Saints have Reggie Bush returning kickoffs and punts of TDs every once in a while.

We have one of the most physical special teams unit as well as a consistent kicker in Kasay, a good punter in Baker, and even a great K.O.S in Rhys Lloyd.

The Falcons have a great coverage unit.

I've got to say that the Bucs have the league's best special teams unit, blocking punts and kicks, returning kicks and punts for TD's, and making S.T turnovers too.

So I have to say, the NFC is gonna be a very hard division to win in next season. Who agrees that the NFC South being the league's hardest division for years to come?? And who does everyone think will win the South next season??

My predictions… 1. Saints 2. Panthers (Both enter the playoffs) 3. Falcons 4. Bucs

I like the way you predicted the 2010 NFC South regular season finish.

I for one, will be very happy if that is the way it plays out.

If Brees stays healthy and the Saints continue to get the turnovers at a rate similar to last year, they are the favorite to win the division. However, they COULD go to favorite to finish last if Brees gets injured. Not wishing it...just saying that he is THAT critical to their success.

The Panthers and Falcons are very similar teams. Good QB Play....great running games...solid WR's...good OLines....improving defenses. They should definitely both be battling it out for 2nd in the division, and a possible WC birth.

The Bucs are on the rise. However, they still have too many holes to fill to be considered real contenders. But, that has never really meant anything in the Worst To First NFC South.

If nothing else, it will be an interesting season in the NFC South.

A team having their starting QB healthy is critical to their success? Wow Really? What a brilliant analysis Maddie. Especially when you consider that every team in the NFL would suffer if they lost their franchise QB. You should work for ESPN

God, please just shut the fug up. You are a complete waste of air, food, and water.

My comment was that they have NO decent option behind Brees. Much like Indy has NO decent optiion behind Manning. However, there are teams that have solid back-up QB's.

Once Im done making my panthers will win the super bowl with a rebuilding team prediction and bragging about all the hardcore tailgating partys downtown (both of them).

Your attempts continue to FAIL on epic proportions. You are beginning to bore all of us. Please at least come up with some new material....or move along.

    • Yeah, if you tune in for any of the remainder of the season you will get what you're asking for. Nobody but yourself to blame. This is a sports franchise of losers, for losers.
    • Here is my take, go ahead and roast me, I'm ok with it, I know where I am. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I will wait until week 4 or 5 before I entertain that option. This game I blame on the coaching staff. Their failure to give reps to the first team during the preseason was reflected in this game. Lets just call this what it is... our preseason warm up game. You could see that the whole team was flat in the first half. Every aspect of the game, the basic fundamentals. Mental errors, missed tackles, timing on routes, they were not ready for this game. Jacksonville is not a great team but you could clearly see their energy level surpassed ours. I do have to give credit to our defense. They did hang in there and kept competing through 4 quarters (minus the 71 yard run). The way our offense played it's a wonder Jacksonville didn't put 40 on us. Positives I saw, (I know, I know), but come on, we still have 16 games. TMAC IS that guy!! Chuba looked good, and overall, our O-line looked good. As bad as Bryce looked at times I do feel like we're a step or two away from connecting with our WR corps. There were plays to be made that were JUST off by a step or two (again, I know). We have talent at WR, we have talent on offense. To me, this game just looked like a team that was not mentally prepared for NFL week one, and less, "oh my god, we're the same old Panthers". Now I get it... a lot of this hinges on Bryce Young and his confidence. If he can erase this and focus on building continuity with these receivers I honestly think we're not going to suck as bad as we did today. XL... IDK, the jury with him is still out, but there is no doubt the kid has mega potential. Our defense, honestly, considering we have a bunch of new guys on that side, they held their own considering the offense could never change the momentum of the game. I am as disappointed as everyone else at another week one poor performance. But I also realize we are STILL rebuilding. Lets just take it week by week right now and see if we have ANY talent that rises to the surface. Because I really do not know what we have talent wise. And that is not just limited to the QB. So, we will see, but I'm not going to call it just yet... just my take. Now fire away! lol
    • Well for one, what other realistic choice is there? Barring a season ending injury, Bryce is the guy for this year. Next year all options are open, but there aren't any other real world solutions for the 2025 season.
