Bryce Young is very similar to Drew Brees but Panthers nation should be patient

One similar stat is what people typically refer to as “cherry picking” if it doesn’t suit their narrative.

The most points we've scored all season was with a washed up 35 year old Andy Dalton on the road. Cling to cherry picking if it makes you feel better bud.

Carl please stop having a meltdown.

We all want this offense to play better. There are different factors. But right now Bryce Young is at the center of those factors and it's undeniable. Acknowledging reality is not a slight or vendetta against the kid. It's our current predicament.

There's Step 5, right on cue.

The offensive line is at the center of the factors costing the offense, with the QB, WRs and coaching staff also at fault. The definition of "objectivity" is not "single out one problem and conveniently ignore the rest," and it will never be the definition -- not even after you say someone is having a meltdown or after you condescendingly ask if they're gonna be OK.

You think Young is the center of our problems?  We have so many you can literally take your pick.  Tepper, Fitt, Reich, Injuries, Lack of Weapons, OL regression, no running game, dropped passes etc....  Young is an issue no doubt so the list is so long it's exhausting.

We traded a haul to acquire him.

Yes if we cannot get him playing better we are screwed. He is supposed to be our future for the next decade. So yes he is at the center. Nothing else matters.

Sam Howell has been sacked 40 times. He's in the top ten in two different key QB statistics. You're overplaying your hand.

I'd argue making that trade with the roster they way it is makes the GM the center of the problem.  If that person thought this was the right move and they continue to make these mistakes we are screwed.  Burns/Rams trade decline to the Burns current situation, CMC trade, Including our only weapon in a trade to draft a QB, paying Hurst and Sanders large contracts for their position, passing on Stroud, struggling to draft well these past 2-3 years.  A rookie QB struggling in this environment is exactly that.

The GM is on his way out barring a miracle finish. All or part of the coaching staff may be by next season too. Once you go that route you're saddling a new GM or coach with someone else's QB.

Best case scenario is for Bryce Young all circumstances aside to plant his feet in the ground and start looking like one of the best rookies in this class. Further poor play is only going to open more questions and the likelihood for more volatile future outcomes for all involved.

The need to justify picking him is a real problem. If not then switch back the oline blocking. Can't. It would harm Bryce so keep having really bad play and just blame the oline that they built for their new QB.

Owner, FO/Coaches and then having to justify that pick is the chain of blame for the offense in my eyes. None of that is Bryce's direct fault, even with his meh play, but he also can't get away from it either. In a way he is the center of the offensive problems, not him personally but all that he is tied to that has led to the corner they put themselves in. IDK a hostage to the Owners', FO's and coaches' mistakes may be a better way of putting it. They can't even sit him 'to grow' without taking a massive beating.

What Sam is doing this year is crazy, but it's a pretty different situation.  One was able to sit nearly his entire rookie season and is in his second year now.  That can make a bigger difference than you think.  That same player has a better OC, better weapons, and a better running game.  Basically WR1, WR2, TE, and RB all favor Washington with our old slow WR beating their's.  Even with all of that Howell is impressing the hell out of me and I wish we had drafted him.  Imagine having Howell with CMC, and DJ Moore still plus all of our picks....

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
