Peyton Manning/Drew Brees 1A-1B???

Thats what Darren Sharper thinks. Recently he said that when you talk about the two of them, Peyton would be 1A and Brees would be 1B. I know he is Drew's teammate and all, but lets put this lets think about this Peyton Manning (soon to be best QB of all time, if not already) and Drew Brees. Drew isn't a scrub, but hes not in Peyton's league. anyone else think they are that close? Whose in your Top 5-10 in the NFL right now.

Based on this past season only:

1) Manning

2) Brees

3) Favre

4) Rivers

5) Warner

Brees is a really good QB, his strength is his accuracy. Peyton has more tools than any of them... arm strength, accuracy, experience, football smarts, dedication... he is the best right now.

That.

At the end of the day Manning is the clear cut #1.

Brees has the known ability, but compared to Manning he's in a whole different league.

When the Colts backs were against the wall who bailed them out against the #1 Defense? Peyton.

When the Saints backs were against the wall who bailed them out? The Refs.

BTW, if there is a true 1A 1B it's Peyton-Brady.

how many QB's have thrown for more than 5,000 yards in a season? Which QB leads the league in the last 4-5 years in many categories?

Drew Brees that's who

Peyton is far and away the best QB in football.

Brees was the "flavor of the month" this season. Last couple of seasons it was Brady. And before that is was guys like Steve McNair. The bottom line is every QB is always being compared to Peyton.

The top QBs I would want in the huddle for the Panthers in 2010:

1) Peyton Manning

2) Drew Brees

3) Phillip Rivers

4) Aaron Rodgers

5) Carson Palmer

I'm amazed that you are dissing a 3 time Super Bowl winning QB so much. Brady is still the best QB in the league man. Dude is clutch.

Brady is great, but I'm not sure Brady could accomplish the same things Manning has while surrounded by the cast Manning has had.

LMFAO Stats.

Which guy constantly turns out a 10+ win a season team?

Brees is good, but not in Peyton's league unfortunately.

Why did you leave out 04? Could it be because he thew 49 TD's that year? Not saying Drew Brees isn't good, but stats are funny things depending on how you look at them.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
