Says the "UNC fan". 😂

Yeah, it was wild how Howell was the only guy out there and single handedly lost.

Howell is leading the NFL in passing yardage on an awful team with a lame duck coach, the worst D in the NFL, and an OC just trying to audition for HC roles vs. trying to run a functional offense. He's about the only thing right about that team.

My point in bringing up Howell is that the Heels would have been utterly awful with our defenses without Howell and Maye at QB. Mack has been floated by getting the two best QBs we've ever had and doing very little in the other side of the ball. I know that's obvious and you're just a troll but figured I'd point that out for anyone who actually cares.

I been saying Mack was the problem. Great coach in the past but his time is up.

People trash Burns all the time and he's a Panther. I can do the same for UNC QBs. I didn't really trash either tbh I just said Howell looks like a middle of the pack QB. If he's in your top 10 QBs so be it.

Yeah, trash the guys that are keeping us from being 3 or 4 win teams. We suck because we have no D and a HC who runs out of gas mid-season because he needs to have his legs kicked up at the beach enjoying retirement. When the entire team looks out of sort down the stretch year after year it's the coach's fault.

Yeah, it's Howell's fault that they literally have the worst D in the league and no running game. He really should be making more tackles.

I have him as a middle of the pack QB. That means he's better than half the starting QBs in the league.

You somehow took that as a shot.  I would literally trade Bryce for Howell right now and add a 3rd round pick lol

I'm curious were do you have him ranked?

I agree. Maye has also been underwhelming this season. I call it like I see it. Hopefully a new HC is on the horizon.

Honestly, 13th. As a first year starter with a terrible OL, terrible running game, and receivers that are near the top of the league in drops.

I have no confidence in Mack at this point. We've had an opportunity to have two Heisman campaigns and absolutely horrifically botched both. We aren't developing QB talent and we collapse in the second half of seasons. It's just not good coaching. Mack has accomplished what we brought him back to do. Drag us out of the gutter, rebuild recruiting relationships, and build a bridge to the next coach. It's time for that next coach.

Seeing what State is doing to Carolina tonight reminds me that the Ga Tech and Virginia loses we not flukes at all

Were they in the second half of the season? If yes, not a fluke. This has been our norm under Mack. We have folded like a cheap suit in the second half of the season year after year. I just don't think he can sustain it down the stretch at this age. He just doesn't have the ability to coach a full season. I can't make anything else make sense.

    • I mean, at the time that wouldn't have worked for them. The truth is that when they had the biggest advantage in that conversation was also when Notre Dame was at their peak arrogance and revenue stream creation(prior to the Longhorns Network, etc). Notre Dame was just never going to work out. The biggest thing they could have done is go hard AF and try to give insane deals to the premier Big 12 teams. Even then, most of them were eyeing the Big Ten and SEC. The biggest issue with the ACC was betting wrong. Miami and Virginia Tech ended up being disasters. Basically former college football powerhouses that ended up being afterthoughts by the time they arrived. I mean Miami specifically have literally had a total of three double digit win seasons since they joined the ACC in 2004 and two of those are in the past 2 seasons. Virginia Tech just fell apart at the wrong time, although I think Franklin will bring them back to prominence to an extent. Had we had it to do in hindsight, probably taking teams like TCU, Baylor, etc would have been wiser options than some of the moves into the Northeast and getting Miami.   But, ultimately, fug all this nonsense. It's the insane greed of college football that killed regional rivalries, college basketball and entire storied, REGIONAL conferences. That is the real blame. The thirst for the destruction of all college sports which sits squarely at the feet of the slobbering, ignorant rednecks and hillbillies at the top of the college football sphere.
