If Young had all those guys around him he would be bigger, stronger, faster, have a NFL caliber arm and wouldn't look like a undersized college QB!

Comparing him to Lawrence just makes him look like a flat out bust. They only things that they have in common is being picked #1 and their rookie HC got fired mid season, one for his actions and the other for being apart of the Young trainwreck.

Yes they do.. For some reason that bad roster is playing better and it isn’t 1 player doing it..

Their defense has made a jump..

The Oline has been consistent..

Tank Dell and Nico Collin’s have developed into weapons you fear..

The coaching on both sides of the ball is obviously better..

This is suppose to be the ultimate team sport right.. So why is it so hard to give credit to that team..

There is nothing wrong with giving credit to the team, but the point is they drafted a bonafide franchise  QB that has changed the culture of that team clearly... and everybody knows how much of an impact that it is. The texans were getting blasted as an organization and had a bunch of drama prior to this season, you can count on two hands how many games they have won the last few years. They have a really young first year HC and a young first year OC and a bunch of vet players that were at the top of nobodies list but Tunsil coming into the season, when you add in the fact that they have had so many starters not even available this year it makes it even more clear. If the coaches were more experienced and they already had a pro bowl level vets then all the credit would be warranted but the truth is Strouds impact has been so great that they maybe have 1 win without him, they have won majority of their games off his back. Thats is the truth and thats what people are refusing to acknowledge which is why they look foolish trying to deflect so much.

One guy has ideal NFL QB measurables. The other guy had to be able to overcome completely lacking NFL QB measurables.

I’m sorry this is BS.. This is the ultimate team sport 1 guy shouldn’t get all the credit plain and simple..

And this whole “what I thought of the team before is all that matters” is stupid argument..

Just because you thought this player sucked before doesn’t change the fact that “this year” he got better…
I think Stroud is a amazing and have thought that for years now… And I’m a UM fan.. But he isn’t doing this alone.. Coaches change the culture not players.. Demco brought the San Fran defense to Houston and now it’s giving up nothing on the ground and jump almost 12 spots in rankings.. Does that matter??

    • I read that Pittsburgh is a possibility.  I think of college QB studs who had some form of mental quirk yet tons of talent--but their issue made being a team leader difficult and it led to their demise--going back:  Jamarcus Russell, Art Schlichter, Jeff George, etc. I think people forget that the QB must not only have talent, but they must lead.
    • I wish I knew more details, but the NIL money to 20-year olds combined with easy access to gambling sites is a side effect that these kids may not have considered.  To your point,A famous 2009 Sports Illustrated article titled “How (and Why) Athletes Go Broke” estimated that 78% of retired NFL players go bankrupt or face significant financial stress within two years of leaving the league.  I am guessing that ego and $$$ and the thrill of competition (most pro athletes love competition because they are the winners) makes it a powerful temptation.  Throw in the ease of gambling on your phone which is always in your hand, and I see your point x 10.
    • Freeling got some reps at RT when they gave Moton a rest day--I sorta hope Freeling gets brought along slowly as you describe.  It would be better for him for reasons you provide.  We have a really good problem.
