There were many Huddlers that wanted to trade CMC but how Fitty keeps his job after that trade I have no idea.  CMC could possibly make the Hall of Fame and we got literally nothing to show for it.  Fitty can’t possibly be here going forward right?

Pretty much the entire huddle wanted CMC gone because "overpaid running back" "lost a step" and various other idiotic takes.....

The best of which was the "injury prone" nah bro they were intentionally limiting the wear and tear during lost seasons he would have played all but 2-3 of those if the panthers had been in contention... just like Cam with the Patriots I can't root for him hate the fugging nines. Wish he went to the Bills

It certainly was based on what we turned the haul into. The 2nd was a minor part of the trade for #1 for Bryce. The 3rd and 4th we turned into DJ Johnson via trade up. We still have a 5th next year. That better be a Sam Howell level 5th rounder.

No…there is absolutely nothing about trading CMC for anything that did not include multiple firsts wasn’t a wrong move.  The salary cap doesn’t matter when you have a superstar player like him,  I disagree completely

I'd kill for Sam Howell he's what Baker Mayfield was supposed to be (a gunslinger)

Exactly, I was always against trading CMC because his injuries were just bad luck things (like when the guy rolled up on his ankle as he was going into the end zone and gave him the high ankle sprain) and not a bunch of non contact injuries that pile up year after year (like Horn).  Plus, he 100% could have and would have played at the end of both seasons if we were in even the slightest contention, so he missed more games than necessary because there was no point in throwing him back out there to risk injury or hurting draft position in a lost season.

But even if we were to trade him, we get a TERRIBLE package in return.

I understand how the chart works and how all the picks added up to a first round value, but that's basically like saying you're good taking 100 $1 items and hoping you can sell every single one for the dollar and make the same $100 that you could have gotten in return from 1 item.

Trading CMC for anything less than a first, let alone a late 2nd rounder being the best pick in the trade, was beyond atrocious

It was clear when they did it…this isn’t 20/20 talk.  That was always a ridiculous trade by ridiculous people

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't lobbying to GTFO of here. He and the team say he wasn't but all the sitting out with relatively minor nagging injuries and then getting traded for not a great return to a contender and then suddenly getting a lot more durable (like I predicted)? It all just adds up to feeling like he forced his way out of here.

For the record, I was 100% onboard with trading CMC. We needed a QB and we needed draft capital. We just fuged it up like we have everything else under Tepper.

CMC was basically the best thing about watching the Panthers play. The soul sucking vortex of doom and apathy the was Sam Darnold w could be somewhat counteracted by CMC. I was all for trading CMC with the idea that we had a clear plan in place and had a great QB in mind to draft. Instead we drafted a tiny QB who is a long shot to make it in the NFL (any tiny QB is a long shot), and we have no plan in place whatsoever. We're just tossing players out there and whatever happens, happens. No vision. No nothing. We're lucky to have won one game. If THAT is what we're doing, then I'd rather have kept CMC and just focused on enjoying his running on Sundays. Now I have nothing to enjoy.

His mom basically said so in an interview post trade. They wanted him on the west coast. Is it a coincidence suddenly he's not perpetually banged up anymore?

He was never perpetually banged up, 2 years in a row of getting hurt for a few weeks and then being shelved because you're a star player on a team already eliminated from the playoffs doesn't equate to being "perpetually banged up"

Again, the first year injury was a player falling on his ankle while trying to tackle him as he dragged the guy into the end zone and he got a high ankle from it.  I don't remember the injury the second year off the top of my head, but even if it was a non contact muscle pull, that would make it one time in his career, not an ongoing thing like it is with Horn or other actually injury prone players.

He's played in every game of the season in 5 of his 7 seasons in the league, but sure, he's perpetually banged up

    • Hello there.  We are rolling out a complete overhaul of the Huddle. Why: Frankly this site is so old the database and antiquated software has gotten unmanageable. There is not much we can do to fix anything anymore. The new site is wired for the future including getting back in the app stores.    When:  Hopefully by early July so that we can test and recover things. After the migrations we will still have access to the old site behind the scenes to bring over anything we missed.    Wait, will I lose anything?  We are only bringing over topics and posts from the past calendar year. The tinderbox is being set on fire and rolled off a cliff. All it ever did was made this place feel horrible all while changing approximately 0 minds in 20 years.  The new site will only have 4 forums to keep this joint Carolina team sports focused. Panthers, Hornets, Charlotte FC, Hurricanes.    Improved Moderation  This is a clean slate for us, as such if you are a problematic member (you know who you are) that enjoys getting banned and coming back, we aim to make it much more difficult for you. However, upon the move your slate is clean. Take advantage of it.  We would love to get this place back to what it used to be. Nice folks with friendly banter centered around Carolina sports. We will be using the BAN HAMMER liberally to rid this place of people who aren't interested in that or try to drag the new site back into the gutter.   New Features With new tech comes new features we will be rolling out over the rest of the year.    What about the damn ads?  Fewer and less problematic ads. Again, new tech allows for this. Without ads this place gets shut down.    What if I can't login?  If you can't login due to not being able to reset your password from the login screen, email [email protected] with your username and we will get you squared away.    Let me know if you have any specific questions.
