Jarrett smartening up

A guy wanting to kick ass in his contract year?? Amazing.

In all seriousness though, maybe he just needed to remember what it was like to have teammates jump all over you when you catch a TD pass. It's been 3 years, and after the last game, he's pumped up. If he has even a decent year as a big #2, you can believe that someone will pony up the dough for him with how young he is.

Raise your hand if you knew who Elvis Dumervill was before this season? *crickets*

All it takes is one season to get noticed, and more importantly, get paid. His last rookie contract dollar is probably just about spent.

Hopefully, we don't re-sign Moose so he or any other receiver can get a true chance. Like an above poster said, a few years late, but glad to see he seems serious. Should be a nice combo with an actual QB

I've gotta agree here. I love Moose to death, but it's time for him to step down from the #2 slot. We need youth for Smitty.

i think part of DJ problem is that even when he has been open he is never as open as smith......come on if your a QB and you see a open DJ and a open steve smith is a easy answer.....matt moore starting full time should be a plus for DJ, Rosario, hell maybe even moose if he comes back

Sorry, but I still want Moose here. If Jarrett doesn't step up, Moose can still be around to help when Jarrett can't. Plus, Moose can still block & still has it in him.

Also its hard to be motivaed when your below average QB only throws to Smitty.

I just love when people keep saying that same old excuse that Jake only throw just to Smitty. Any of you guys ever seen Rosario, King, & other got TDs from Jake & look better than Jarrett ever could?? So much for that lie of "Jake only throw just to Smitty". Yes, he throw to Smitty a lot but he also gave others as well & that's a fact. ;)

With how next season is the end of Jarrett's contract, he need to step up big time. I'm still going to support him, but it over if he can't do much worth of crap next season.

i like jarret and want him to succeed. Every time i think of him i think of how good he was at USC. I really have opened to drafting a WR in the 2nd and may a guy that has lot of speed or kick returer in latter rounds. I think a important stat is that smith didn't even get his first TD till the arizona game which is super long time. We mostly held jake to short passes or safe throws to tightends. I think with better QB jarret shoul have stats of a good number 3. When i say this i mean guys like breaston. I think jarret and moose will switch between season on starting playing time wit moose gettin bulk.

He was the guy on the receiving end of this.

Fair assessment, but I have to also figure Delhomme in here a bit as well.

Delhomme has had a history of not throwing to guys he doesn't trust. In some cases, that was justified (Keary Colbert and Drew Carter, for example). And honestly, you could make an arguement that it was justified with Jarrett.

It is possible that the switch to Matt Moore was needed to get Jarrett involved.

The question is whether you're willing to bet the success if next season's passing game on that.
