Aaron Kampman

30 might be older for an NFL player, but experience means a lot too... we've go to get someone in there if they let Peppers go. So look at everyone who's available... Kampman had a good year last year didn't he?

eh, did you watch last year? Oh, you were talkn about 08, the year he was not injured and actually played DE. Yea, that was a good year.

do we even know if he is going to pass a physical? this is sad the peppers hate is so deep. that we are willing to take a mediocre de with a acl injury who is 30 years old rather than even consider locking up pay to a 3 or 4 year deal. i would rather not pick up anyone and go with the young guys we have.

if ure talking about peppers than ill bet money that he wouldnt take a 3 or 4 year deal. unless its worth 60 million dollars.

maybe. but why pick up aaron kampman? why not just go with the young guys we have and draft another de this year? you guys forget that this will be a limited fa market and competition for what little fas will be fierce. people think just because we dump peps salary means we will go on a fa shopping spree, but in reality we may not pick up anyone.

Ive thought about this too but I honestly think the Panthers have a great shot at getting if they are really interested. While teams go after Peppers when Free Agency begins, the Panthers need to show interest in Kampman, show him that he is wanted. I think we have a very good organization and orgainzation that attracks a guy like Aaron Kampman who is a high character player.

diggs could probably help out too.

Kampman is much better than a "mediocre DE".

No hate, have Peppers authentic jersey and fathead... just being real, we're not going to shell out 21 mill for this guy. I like Everette Brown and Charles Johnson, but these guys have had such little playing time that I'm not ready to bet the season on them... Kampman would be nice insurance.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
