Possible Receivers for us

we definitely need to address receiver in the draft, I'm hoping we do it with our pick in the 2nd, but if there is a solid d end(cause pep is leaving) or d tackle we might take them instead. Here are some receivers that might be available to us where we pick, let me know your thoughts:

Brandon Lafell

Dezmon Briscoe (my personal favorite)

maybe golden tate

damian williams

benn will be gone in the first, and i think d. thomas from georgia tech will be too considering reports he ran a 4.38 at his size.

We need another playmaker!

Demariyus Thomas now has a broken foot. He will not be running a 4.38 at the combine. I still like Golden Tate and Benn the most. I think both are immediate impact guys if they go to the right team.

Thomas ran a 4.38 before he broke his foot according to his agent; I think that is what the OP is refereeing to.

Other than Dez Bryant, any WR is possible. It’s hard to gauge the value of any player until the combine/pro days are over.

Lafell will probably be gone by the time we pick as well as Tate. Tate would be worth trying to trade up to pick though. But I would be happy with us taking Shipley and investing a late round pick in Floridas Brandon Jones or LSU's Holliday who are both extremely quick players who would be huge assets to us in the return game which is extremely important with out run focused offense.

i would pass on gilyard and look and antonio brown later. i like brown a bit more actually. another option is ford who may slip to the 3rd and currently is a 3rd/4th grade who would be fine as a returner and tons of potential at wr.

of the 2nd round wrs, i like briscoe and lafell more than gilyard. both will be good long term.

This.

He is a threat at KR/PR and WR. But will he be there when we pick, and we will we actually choose a WR in the second?

I hope so.

there are several decent WR that could slide to us. i think we choose one of them or a DE. never know what the panthers will do though, many times they end up picking BPA for some depth. WR has to be near the top of our needs list.

i think gilyard could make an impact at both WR and KR. either way i think we need a wideout that fills both those roles. someone early with talent preferrably. we've already got plenty of later rounders with "potential" (ryne robinson)

I think Cooper is the best fit for our offense, hes a good receiver and gets good separation (he is deceptively fast) but he also is one of, if not the, best blocking recievers in the draft.

I would love to get Andre Roberts as well. Or if hes there and Graham (DE), Price (DT), and Tate are gone I would love us to get Jacoby Ford in the 2nd. He has face melting speed and shown at the senior bowl that the so called "Poor" route running was because of the offense he played in not necessarily him. Actually him and Cooper probably did the best in this area at the SB.

It only took one 40 time for Mayock and the other NFL pundits to start comparing Jacoby Ford to Desean Jackson. He really might have shot himself up the board and into the conversation at the 4th receiver taken. OR teams (other than the Raiders) could be wary because he reminds them of Darius Heyward-Bey.

My WANTS list still has Bryant and Tate at the top as the two guys who are far and away the best receivers in the draft.

Benn ran a little slow but he is a bigger receiver. I wouldn't mind having him..even though I'd really like to have one of those guys that is running in the 4.3s. The 4.5 guys (a la Jarrett and Keary Colbert) haven't really worked out for us. We need to find another Steve Smithesque type receiver.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
