Matt Moore responds to Panthers' offer

I was stoked to see that they tendered him the highest offer. Thank god they are keeping the guys that we need. Let's just hope that Moore is allowed to at least have a chance at taking over the reigns. Seeing what he can do via 16 games would keep me excited each week!

But it's only a one year deal. He's not set in stone...yet. Let's not jump the gun.

I don't see anything wrong with a one year deal. With how there won't be an NFL games in the 2011-2012 year, I figure it will save the organization more money with this along with maybe signing many other for 1 yrs. deal. Especially with if NFL resume in 2012, our salary cap should be fine.

So Marshall must feel like crap now..lol

Im sure they will sign Moore to a LTC if he beats everyone out at camp. As for Marshall I think its not as much of a diss as it is just letting him have what he wants. He wants to know if teams will pay a high price for him. Well now he gets to see.

Oh, I agree. I just mean everyone is acting like he's our future, but the one year deal doesn't make that for certain. In other words, he's not the savior of the franchise for now.

Then when he sees he's not going to get anywhere near the top CB money he thinks he can get he will be back with Carolina at reasonable price!

"I’ve never thought that they didn’t think highly of me," said Moore. "That didn’t cross my mind, but something like this speaks loud and clear about how they feel. It’s good to know. Carolina is the place to be. It’s good to know they feel that way and I’m just looking to enjoy it and move forward."

This kid is the Anti-Christ to Peppers.

How refreshing.

Yeah for us.

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
