Matt Moore responds to Panthers' offer

This kid is the Anti-Christ to Peppers.

How refreshing.

Yeah for us.

That's what I was thinking, a player that is happy with a tender. And wanting to play for that team. This will give him a lot of confidence going into TC. I just hope Matt and DJ are hanging out together over the summer working out and practicing together and getting a connection going.

Is It? I hope we keep him but this could have been done for draft picks. Maybe the FO thinks they can get back in the 1st round with him. Get up there and take Bradford or something.

After all Hurney and Fox went after McCown because they liked him so much. Could be we resign McCown and him and Jake fight it out.

Take the 1st and 3rd and really do some damage in this deep draft.

Just so everyone knows. I WANT MORE TO BE OUR NUMBER 1 but offering him the high tender could be for other reasons than keeping him.

I don't think anyone would have given up more than a second for him. At the very least, it doesn't make sense to give him the highest offer possible if they're just trying to get back in the first round of the draft.

1st and a 3rd.

He is more of a sure thing then any QB in the draft. 6-2 as a starter against mostly playoff teams, He would be worth a 1st. Especially if that team had more than one 1st round pick.

I hope we match it but the possibilities are endless. What is St Louis wanted him... Would you take their #1 Pick overall? and a third? It would be hard to say no to. Especially since Fox things Jake can win the starting QB spot back.

    • Gustavsson would be insane. I think we would have to break the bank to afford that move. Which, I don't think is necessarily a bad idea. Ultimately, Freddie isn't likely to be around more than a couple of seasons more. We can all agree that unless they have a fleet of sports psychologists working on Kochetkov, he will never be capable of getting his head on straight enough to compete.
    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
