Peppers admits to taking plays off

I still don't get why Peppers went to the Bears...Peppers need a motivator at HC. Lovie Smith is basically a John Fox clone.

Oh wait a sec...

You and I know why Peps went to the Bears. They already had the contract ready past 12AM Friday morning.... They offered him the most MONEY!

The whole I wanna play in a 3-4 scheme and that's the reason I wanna leave Carolina..... Bull$hit

Am still waiting to see any of you take the amount of snaps Peppers does, and play any harder.

"his conditioning"...

regardless the conditioning, I bet you'd get tired too. but I know, you hold him to a god like standard that was never achievable to begin with. :mad2:

I would say there is a 80% chance that Lovie Smith is gone next year.
Wasn't Lovie thought to be on the hot seat last year? Pep says he went there to play for Lovie. Pep could help Lovie lose his job.

When is John Fox going to admit to taking seasons off?

ZING!

Didn't the Panthers offer him more?

Didn't the Panthers offer him more?

Yep. They did offer to make him the highest paid DE in the NFL 2 yrs. after the season where he has 2 1/2 sacks (and where Jake was out with having the Tommy John too). And he turn it down. Guess he wanted much as close to $100 millions & we couldn't afford that.

no, we did offer him way more money but he wanted to get out to better him self "supposedly" what a loser:thumbsup:

Yes we did offer him more money with a nice big Franchise tag on his @ss last year. But who knows how much money we offered him last year (that he turned down) before we Franchised him? And I don't believe we offered him as much as 96 million over 6 years neither. That's ridiculous and crazy for 1 man especially when he's already 30, he's not getting any better as the years progress.

At least we had him in his prime :coolgleamA:

The difference between Pepp and "most players" is how evident was it? If the fans see it consistently, it's a problem.

I just don't buy it. I think this whole doesn't play hard as much as other players was just something the fans and prognosticators started saying, and it caught fire even though there was no evidence that Peppers did it any more than any other player.

All players have games in which they don't play as well they do in others. Take the guy everyone on here seems to love, Jared Allen. He had 7.5 sacks against Greenbay this year, and 7 against everyone else. He had a few dominant games, several average ones, and several in which his name was barely called. He was barely a factor in the last 5 games of the season for Minnesota. He had a total of 12 tackles and 2 sacks. Seems to me he took the NFC championship game off as I barely heard his name called. Or maybe New Orleans just did a good job against him.

    • I was going to joke and have the Chiefs throw in 2 first rounders..... But as soon as the Mahomes/Bryce trade comes through we need to hit accept and have Mahomes on the very first flight out here; no negotiation needed lol.
    • It will be interesting this year to see if spending time with some of the best QBs and play callers in the league changed Wentz at all. I really think Mills is starter material. He wasn’t awful despite being apart of two dumpster fire seasons before Demeco got there. Plus he would have zero issues seeing over the line.
    • I feel like for once every one of those guys held back. And I think there is a 5'9 100% attitude guy that they're almost hesitant to speak out against. This is the fact of the matter, it's sports. When you win, fans cheer. When you lose, fans boo. Especially consistently year after year with no end in sight. Instead of just talking about us being the Bible belt maybe talk about how we've never once in the franchise history had back to back winning seasons. We love the team, we loved and celebrated Cam and Steve, and even guys like Jake that we love not just because of talent but because of his spirit as the face of the team. But they all won.  Fans pay a lot of money on gear, and on these overpriced tickets to go out and see a horrible product. I've slowed down on watching games because I realized I was spending 4 hours of my day getting annoyed watching a consistently bad product. Outside of a few hopeful games at the end of last year Panthers football hasn't even been enjoyable to watch. When I flip the channel to a Ravens/Eagles game it almost feels like I'm watching a different sport.  I wouldn't just focus so much attention on the city, I'd ask based on the results are they justified.
