2024 Charlotte FC Games Thread

I completely forgot that the MLS changed the playoff format so that round one is a best of three series; so no matter what we get a home playoff game.

I’m hoping we hold that sixth spot because we’ve played well against Cincinnati and we’d also avoid Miami in the next round.

NYCFC should beat Montreal and Charlotte should beat D.C. United. If those results happen then we’ll keep sixth.

1-0 with me in the building this year.

Also 1-0 with Kevin Harvick in the building, but I digress.

I'm 2-0 in the building.   I was their Friday too.  Great game.

I'm still learning soccer.....but sure seems the refs did all they could to help Orlando in that one.

We got absolutely screwed on several no-calls in the first half. Should've been a free kick inside the 20 at one point and instead it was nothing, then on the other end we get called for a foul for breathing on an Orlando player.

It kind of evened itself out in that that 95th-minute Orlando goal was called offside. Was it offside? Yes, but by a slim-enough margin that most any Charlotte sports team would never get it called.

Worst officiating ever in any sports game in history. Should’ve been 2-0

That charmin soft pk cost me 1550 dollars.  Oh yeah and big pat onside by at least a yard. Garbage officiating

Cltfc ml

Karol shot on goal

Atlanta united ml

+6000 on 25 dollars

Not to mention we could have had home games to the finals

Right, forget the PK decision, we should’ve still won 2-1 since there’s no way in hell Agyemang was offside.

    • What's wrong with Damien Lewis? He played pretty well last year.
    • Official NFL Cuts Tracker Deadline for roster cuts is Tuesday, August 26th. At this moment (Friday, August 22nd) the only interesting names I see are... K Caden Davis (BUF) RB Ameer Abdullah (SF) WR Equanimeous St. Brown (SF) WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (NO) LB Khaleke Hudson (TEN) Abdullah, St. Brown, Peoples-Jones I don't exactly think we should cut anybody for but it was just interesting seeing those names. Khaleke Hudson was on the Panthers' practice squad last year I believe and might have even gotten called up? And of course, Caden Davis just because of the question mark at kicker this season for the team.
    • I'll say 6/10. I don't know that we learned a whole lot about this team during preseason that we didn't already know. We didn't play the starters enough to really get a feel for what to expect. We had one good drive against the Browns, one 3-and-out and two 3-and-outs against the Texans. That's an extremely small sample size across 3 games regardless of performance. My camp/preseason takeaways: Jalen Coker might be the best WR on this team and is certainly no worse than #2. Nic Scourton is going to be a good player for us. Possibly very good. Bobby Brown was our best free agent addition. Jack Plummer isn't an NFL QB. Not even a practice squad guy. Having anyone other than Canales and Evero call plays was a really stupid and pointless idea. Our depth is largely non-existent, especially on defense. The three areas we actually DO have depth are on the OL, in the WR corp. and at RB. I can't fathom why Dan Morgan didn't do more to upgrade ILB during the offseason. We better hope Lathan Ransom steps up at FS because if he doesn't we have a massive hole. For all the hype surrounding Sanders/Evans, Tommy Tremble is still the best TE on the roster. I'm only slightly less enthusiastic going into the regular season than I was a month ago. I think our starters on offense are solid and we should be pretty good there unless Bryce totally regresses. On defense, we're probably bottom 3rd in the league if 100% healthy and significantly worse than that if injuries become an issue. We badly need at least two of our rookies to become high-level players early (ideally one of the pass rushers + Ransom) and at least 2 of our free agent additions (ideally Moehrig + Bobby Brown) to be significant upgrades over last year. Call me pessimistically optimistic 😆
