I believe this gets the Panthers off the hook for Jake's salary. Read somewhere there is a clause in the contract that voids it if he gets picked up by another team. That's probably why it was exactly the same amount. We would never be so lucky in a capped year.

Nope it doesnt lessen the money owed by the Panthers. It depends on the contract and Jakes contract with the Panthers doesnt let the Panthers off the hook.

It IS official, just saw his signing with the Browns confirmed on the NFL Network. They said it was for 2 years, but no dollar figure was given.

Would like to see him finish his career with dignity backup up for his home town.

Cleveland is going to be hell for him. If he did so poorly with the running game, o line, and WRs we had the past few years he's going to be absolutely destroyed in Cleveland.
