Best sushi restaurant in Charlotte area?

Piggybacking off the sub thread, what's your favorite sushi restaurant around the area?

For value and quality combo, I gotta go with Ru-Sans. Sushi 101 is probably my 2nd favorite. I like Enzo, but it's way overpriced, and any sushi place that does not have a bottle of Siracha sauce at each table can not be taken seriously. I tried MAI at Ayrsley last night, it was more like the Sushi that you would buy at Harris Teeter.

New Zealand Cafe at Sardis Crossing. Probably the best i have had in Charlotte for quality and price. Sushi 101 made me sick twice. I will never go back. Nikkos is good too but is pricey. I like Ru sans but it's weird having Juan Pablo Montoya making your sushi rolls.

Kathy is awesome at New Zealand.

Sushi 101 is disgusting. Awful. And why is the measure of a Sushi place dependent on a hot Thai pepper sauce that totally eliminates any subtle fish flavor?? You will probably do well just to get your Cailforina Rolls from the Harris Teeter.

As for places in Charlotte, my favorite is Yama. Nikko has been ok, but there are just times when i want to eat sushi without having my brain pounded by Club Music.

The Soul tapas place on Central/Pecan is pretty good.

Ill second this as being ok. They do give you humongous pieces of fish btw....

I had one bad experience here, as i got some FOUL Salmon roe during one visit. Again, with the booming music...especially later in the evening.s

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
