Panthers turn down trade offers for Dan Connor

Say what you want about Hurney, but he know how to pick solid players from the drafts despite sometime making few bonehead moves with FA & what not. I'm not surprise Connor isn't going anywhere, 'cause some were saying he could be a starter one day & it look like that going to happend next season if he start playing better than Anderson.

Is there any way to know who these trade scenarios involved?

Regardless, I also feel like we got Connor at a bargain.

He's shown signs of promise and I look forward to this season.

That LB core could be very tough to run and pass on.

No, because "according to league sources" translates to "I'm making this up, because I don't get paid if I don't write something". Seriously, all of his stories are "according to league sources"...

good decision by the front office...although I'm somewhat surprised in what other teams saw in him... he has never played in his natural position and only had one memorable game for us.. translation five round pick offered

He's not the most perfect fit here but he would be very good as a ILB in a 3-4or a MLB in a 4-3. I'm sure that's where the interested teams wanted him as.

The fact that they've turned down trade offers is a good sign. It's nice to have a player with his work ethic and intelligence at LB.

I still want some competition brought in though. Around the 4th round I'd like to see a 1-2 LBs drafted. We don't have the same depth we used to. If Connor/Anderson gets injured we'll be weak.

    • Well, they're both in the same league (if you will). During preseason, Fitz went 3/3 & Sauls went 5/6, but of course Sauls was 4/4 last night (including one 50+). Both were Lou Groza Award finalists. I believe Fitz made two 55+ yarders last season, while Sauls led the nation with three. Fitz was 13/13 (💯) while Sauls was 21/24 (87.5). Fitz was a 3rd-Team AP All-American, while Sauls was a PFF All-American.  Career-wise, Fitz was 58/74 (78.4), while Sauls was 52/64 (81.3). I wish that I could see the attempts and knew the depth of yardage. I wish that we could compare practice kicks during their training camps, but we can't. Maybe someone with a PFF/CFF account can give that Basically it's just a matter of belief I guess. Seeing dude knock down four FGs and go perfect during a pressure-filled game for him is damned impressive if you ask me. I don't believe that Fitzgerald could do that.  That being said, I'd have to know more. I will say that it may be worth mentioning that we seem to like PFF this year and Sauls being a PFF All-American may be notable. Now that being said, the Panthers may not be even considering Sauls.
    • Ive said it 1000x times on here.  Our 2025 season will be dictated by the first 4 games.  poo the bed there and lose all confidence and momentum, we win 5 games maybe.  Go 2-2, 3-1 we got a look at 7/8 wins
    • I basically made almost the exact predictions on a phone call with a buddy about 3 weeks ago. I really do expect Evero gone before the seasons end, Young to just not able to get over the hump enough and DC to head into next season on a VERY hot seat.
