Panthers will replace Peppers by committee

(By Charles Chandler, [email protected]) It'll take a strong group effort next season for the Carolina Panthers to replace the production they got from defensive end Julius Peppers, who signed with the Chicago Bears earlier this month as an unrestricted free agent.p/He'll be missed, coach John Fox said of Peppers last week at the NFL meetings in Orlando, Fla. Hopefully, we can find some young guys who can step in. Maybe we can do it with more than one guy.

Are they going to rotate which lineman takes the play off?

yeah that's what i was thinking about too when the word "production" was mentioned.

and you know what pisses me off the most... everette brown or charles johnson or tyler brayton were right there at the QB half the time peppers would even get to the QB. so he really only had 5.25 sacks.

Thats weird considering he led the team in QB pressures. So in your mind he should really have 15.5 sacks instead of 5.25.

Surely the "committee" will actually play hard with consistent effort in more than a hand full of games this coming season while not absorbing so much money.

The Panthers should also be able to draft a good DE next month as well. The Peppers' tease is finally over. Move on Fox.

Hell yes. I'm officially calling for the revamped D-line to be nicknamed "The Committee". And I also think both Charles Johnson and Brown will have good years, enough that I don't think we will really notice Pep's absence, except for his freak athletic plays.
