dumb penalties 

anemic power play

Win a series or maybe two before being embarrassed and outcoached 

lackadaisical defense 

defenders thinking they are wingers and losing their man 

awful turnovers 

did I miss anything? It’s the same poo every year.

At least we make the playoffs every year. Who cares if we never even make the Stanley Cup once. 
The dark times were bad but this feels worse somehow. Like we are stuck in a time loop and every year it is the same thing over and over. 
Rod is a great season coach. He is a terrible playoff coach. That can not be denied.

I feel like we are caught between a rock and a hard place. I think rod is a good coach and awesome motivator, but definitely is not a good in-game coach and gets exposed by other good coaches that know how to counter our system. But ... Do we really think any other talented coach wants to coach in Carolina? I highly doubt it.

If we fire rod and try to get a new coach, I feel pretty confident in saying we will find ourselves back into being an irrelevant team

Rods problem is he wants to keep his assistant coaches around forever. That will be his downfall.
