Best QB of 07 Draft Class...UDFA Matt Moore?

As most know most drafts start to get judge most accuratly with about 3 years of exp. I was looking at one of my 07 draft mags when I realized something Matt Moore has looked better then any QB in that class. When you see the options however you realize how true it is.

Jamarcus Russel

Brady Quinn

Kevin Kolb

Trent Edwards

Matt Moore

Are the only ones who have started (at least the only ones with any significant playing time). Russel is a bust with a capital B. Quinn I think landed in the best spot for him so who know with him but so far I would say bust. Edwards is a decent QB nothing more.

If you think about it its between Moore and Kolb for the best QB so far. I see Moore as the better of the two right now considering how well he played even missing 2 great T's and a all-pro RB (even Smitty hes last game) and he did it over a longer spread (and 2 different seasons). Like my other thread said we are great at rifling through other teams trash.

They did not cut him, they tried to hide him on their practice squad and we grabbed him.

You have to cut someone to sign them to the PS. And even if he had cleared waivers and they had stashed him on the PS someone could come along and sign him off it.

Curse you Yas.

On a side note did you see the comments.

"G-Men are going to knock out Moore leaving the Panthers with A.J Feeley"

"The Carolina Panthers are goanna be cold, cold cold. Matt Less is going to get knocked on his @ss all day. The Real #### Steve Smith is going to be yelling at everyone on his powder puff blue wearing team (offense, defense, special teams) pointing to his name on his jersey, and then mailing it in.

Your season ended with the "December Super Bowl" vs. the Vikes."

"Guess we'll find out who the real Steve Smith is.

he wears #12, Eli Manning is his QB and he came out of USC. he also has a SB ring and is the best third down WR in the NFL. That's right, its the one in the NFC bEast!"

LOL. Outscored them by 32 points.

I love reading stuff like that. I mean, it's only natural to poo talk your opponents-especially if they're "inferior" like we supposedly were-and I don't really fault opposing fans for doing it most of the time, but you know that Sunday evening probably involved a lot of tears and cheap ass beer for those guys. I mean damn we were up 31-0 at one point.

    • To kick this up, The Athletic has a really comprehensive piece out where pretty much all QB questions are addressed. It is worth seeing.  https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7083539/2026/03/04/starting-quarterback-projections-free-agency-draft/?source=user_shared_article I’m putting something specific here but it should have a thread or something. It is an extensive exercise.  This is a dense write up with a lot of column inches used, about the Jets and Murray and Reich, all this stuff.. then it goes to backup QB and there is Dalton.  I am pasting that part: As for Dalton, Reich is installing the offense he was trying to run in Carolina in 2023 before he got fired, and Dalton was with the Panthers then; he’s an ideal option as a veteran backup to replace Taylor. Reich said this about Dalton in 2023: “The way he's throwing the football, the way he works through progressions, the way he handles the operation. … Since day one (when) he walked in the door, I'm like, 'This guy is starter-worthy.' You guys know I've said that all along. He's, in my opinion, one of the best 32 quarterbacks in the world.” ——— That’s true love lol. I never heard any of this. Pretty crazy I think, considering how the year went.   Anyway the dream is not dead. .
    • The Seahawks traded for wide receiver/returner Rashid Shaheed at the trade deadline. He proved to be a key acquisition. Shaheed returned a punt and a kickoff for touchdowns in the regular season and had a 95-yard kickoff return in the postseason. Shaheed, though, is scheduled for free agency. So, the 12 games he played, including the postseason, might be the extent of his time in Seattle. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Shaheed and the Seahawks are not close to an extension, and the expectation is that the two-time Pro Bowler will hit free agency. Shaheed has 153 receptions for 2,243 yards and 12 touchdowns in his four-year career to go along with three punt return touchdowns and a kickoff return touchdown. He ranks 13th on PFT’s top-100 free agents. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/report-rashid-shaheed-appears-headed-to-free-agency
