Panthers Add Four More Under Contract

The Panthers took care of a little housekeeping, getting their four exclusive-rights free agents signed.

WRs Kenny Moore and Charly Martin, DT Nick Hayden and LB Jordan Senn signed their one-year deals late last week. Their contracts had expired after last season, but they weren't able to negotiate with other teams.

The Panthers have another two weeks and change to worry about their own restricted free agents, as the deadline for RFAs to sign offer sheets is April 15.

CBs Richard Marshall and C.J. Wilson are staying away from offseason workouts, but the rest are either working out here or are otherwise accounted for (rehabbing injuries).

I'm sorry but why are we still holding on to nick haydon, this is the one guy that I've seen that just has panned out at all. He was getting pushed around when he had all the weight to play inside and then when he lost the weight to meet Meeks system he was getting pushed around even more. He was one player I just knew last year was going to get cut and some how it never happend.

Lol, I don't think he makes the team this year as he will get caught up in the numbers game, but Hayden is not as bad as many on here try to make out. What I think a lot of people fail to realize, or truly understand its effects if they do realize, is that he cut weight in order to better fit into Meeks' speedy UT role, but instead was forced to play out of position at NT. And if you really paid attention, most of his problems were in the first game or two of preseason, but he got better as the season went along.

Don't get me wrong, he's completely average, and will probably never be more than a backup rotational player. But, IMO, the hate he gets is a tad unwarranted.

    • When we have everyone playing like they should, we can win the Cup. That has been the biggest problem when we get to the playoffs, but this year seems to be fixed mostly. We could have had multiple if we had done this in the past.
    • Here we go Bryce Stan’s you should love this. Hell it may be one of you.  It has every cliche excuse and then some.  Unintentionally hilarious my limit was reached when he said Bryce had it hard because four play callers.
    • Luke goes in to the specifics of what he looked to accomplish in joint practices.  Basically they may work with someone on the opposing team to stress something they feel is a weakness in their own game in a different way that can be done with someone they are familiar with. That they can have predetermined stresses but since neither wants to get injured and it has absolutely no bearing on anything there is not the level of concern that would be in a preseason game.  He would also even chat with opposing OC.   It seems like an interesting nuance among the vets and savy pros.
