McNabb wants to be a viking and is open to the 49ers

Going to the Jaquars, Oakland, Minnesota, Arizona, or San Francisco makes sense for the teams involved. It sounds as if McNabb would have his own preferences like Minnesota and the 49ers.

I really don't think he fits in Carolina right now. We are going young and he would put a serious kink in Moore's development as McNabb would want to be the starter. He will want a 3 year contract rather than play out the remainder on his current contract and I don't see us doing that. Thirdly McNabb has never played in a run heavy scheme with downfield passing. I think he could adapt but he is not ideally suited for our scheme. For all of these and other reasons I haven't thought of, I hope he gets to go to the team of his choosing if the Eagles let him go with I think is still a mistake, but I don't see the Panthers as a great fit for him nor is he a great fit for us.

If the 49ers want to have a chance to win next year they would do well to get McNabb imo.

They will already win the division now that Warner is retired, and McNabb might just be able to lead them through the playoffs.

McNabb doesn't really have a choice on where he goes does he?
Like Saltman said, you don't want to pick up a guy in the last year of his contract unless you know you can sign him longterm and he will play for the money you are offering. He could be forced to go somewhere for the year but would be a FA again next year. So teams who decide to trade for him will likely already have a contract worked out and McNabb would be willing to go there. Unless you are the Raiders who seem to make a bunch of stupid deals all the time.

    • You would hope so. I’m confused why the sports world seems split on Bryce when he’s obviously not working out.
    • So let’s do the reverse? Make everyone agree everything he does is a disaster? I also think the whole “gaslighting” is on the eye of the beholder. It went from he can’t avoid one single sack countered with he actually did that well Sunday (with data backing it) to a little breakdown of why he is so bad. People are going to have different opinions. I’m also not going to pretend this wasn’t happening Day one with this little QB.
    • All this great stuff he has done, how often does he do it?  I have it at three or four games out of 14 where he was very good and then you get a drive here or a series there where there are some good things. Here is the gaslight part: everyone has put him on a curve with his first year the baseline, neglecting to understand how bad he was then. Even if he comes back twice as good, where does that really leave him? 25th ranked or thereabouts.     He had so far to go, and still does, it is a Major ‘settle’ to accept his play as worthy of giving him our future.  You want to settle when the Bucs have Mayfield, and the Saints have overtaken us at QB? We will be third in the division at QB. That is good enough for y’all?
