fair question, is when does scheme and play calling factor into a run game being league worst.

I mean, we had virtually the no threat of attacking teams downfield.  Had really bad OL play.   Were probably one of if not the most predictable offenses in the NFL......and our lead back was (no disrespect) Hubbard .  AND we outperformed the Tampa run game.

True, and they had actual NFL Wr's to keep the secondary honest. On paper I wonder how their 2023 roster stacks up to our current one

It's a legit question that I'm honestly not sure on (also-I was wrong-forgot they brought Bredeson in this offseason, Stinnie was there but pretty bad).  But they notably went in with a rookie, new parts, and it wasn't pretty.

They were 4th worst run-blocking, we were 5th worst ha.

Wirfs and Goedeke were zone capable, but the others were pretty freaking bad.

What gives me a bit more hope is what Hunt could bring.  Only 2 penalties all last season, strong zone blocker, proven with looks we'll be running.  Lewis was aight in SEA, should have improvement at LG, but it's Hunt who could really fortify the right side next to Moton.

Incremental, not thinking the there's some glow up, but if Brooks eventually gets going behind these guys, that could be the engine that gets things turning if the passing game is still falling apart.  And then we can run to open up the rest.  Not ideal, but I see some hope in getting a running game going.

Huge fan of this guy he regularly does draft content but every year he does breakdowns of teams and since he has been evaluating players has a deep knowledge of every player on each team. Awesome listen if you got the time plus he is moving to charlotte could be a future huddler.

Watched this as well.

Didnt post it because of its length and people wanting a synopsis

his points on young, were spot on in my opinion

it was fair, balanced etc

i agree with many that Young will never have the tools to be elite and everything around him has to be perfect.

nothing personnel, but thats not the nfl world and in my mind, that’s not what the number overall pick  should  be

that said, I'm going to stop analyzing him, its not going to change, try snd Enjoy the season, hope they are competitive and that Young makes us all look like fools..at least for a game or two

    • You don’t even need 1b because Tepper is the only one foolish enough to wheel that deal.    Player wise? Jake’s elbow. JR and Pep getting sideways, no Carruth, Cam’s shoulder, Luke’s concussions, it would be a long list of stuff. You can take it down to certain plays in games. Fox chasing 2 point conversions in the SB would be on my list. RMJr slipping at the end of that same game was not helpful.
    • Ultimately this just amounts to heavy revisionist history. I mean you aren't talking to someone that just popped out the womb a week ago. I was here all throughout the predraft process. The overwhelming majority of the fanbase felt like this was a fine situation and the best situation for a rookie QB to go to compared to Houston for example. The hype for Young and our "rockstar" staff was off the charts. No one could dare speak cautious skepticism of his abilities or they would be neg repped into oblivion. Only after he had one of statistical worst rookie seasons of the last 25 years did we get this narrative now that his rookie season actually shouldn't count. Complete malarkey if you ask me.
    • On the field? Since I guess it qualifies as multiple instances it might not count, but have the damn refs throw some flags on illegal hits to Cam's head in SB50. If that doesn't count, 1A. Cotchery caught it 1B. Kasey keeps that kickoff inbounds. Off the field? 1A. Team is sold to anyone but Tepper 1B. We have the patience not to mortgage the franchise on that Bryce trade. Stroudwpuldve been the better pick but he's not worth it either.
