Davis says he's on track

I really wish we blitzed more. I swear with the LB core we have a DC could cause nightmares for a QB.

Davis blitzed 30 in 417 (7%)

Anderson blitzed 47 in 531 (8%)

Diggs blitzed 22 in 411 (5%)

Beason blitzed 69 in 1046 (6%)

To be honest anything more than 10% per player and I would be worried, however there is room to be a bit more aggressive. I think in our scheme, we need the pressure up front, as our LBs are not 'that' adept at blitzing.

Anyone can blitz. However being able to consistently disguise the looks, is not something we excel at.

what any great team wants is pressure from the front four... leaving the linebackers and secondary to cover the receivers. but you gotta get aggressive with a safety or linebacker blitz from time to time. i like the way ron meeks calls our defense. i think the unit as a whole will be a nightmare for opposing teams next year because they'll all be use to meeks' scheme and system.

    • He threw for 199 and 198 against Miami and the Cowboys so he didn't get them into that situation in those games. More importantly, Miami, the Cowboys and the Packers threw for 261, 256 and 273 yards respectivly - all more than Young. And yet they all lost. High passing yardage does not equate to wins.
    • Fair point, honestly didn't even realize he was listed as questionable as well, could still be for both of them in case either isn't able to go tomorrow. That Canales said something like "we'll check him out tomorrow to make sure he's able to go" still makes me think they were still expecting him to play, as that would be a weird way to phrase it if they felt he was more likely to not be playing. Still just hoping it would be like when a player feels something in a game, gets checked out, but goes back in.  And since it was just practice, once he felt anything, they just shut him down for the day to be safe.
    • The Golden Calf of Bristol was Mr Clutch time.  It’s the Skip Bayless argument.  Someone how being trash all game doesn’t matter….if you can cherry pick one random play late
