He just tripled his readership with the link too

LOL, and don't think it isn't appreciated. We only average 2300 hits per day. (http://www.sitemeter.com/?a=stats&s=s37catscratchreader)

I understand you might not want a link to a blog here, and it's all good. I appreciate the comments from the OP, and have the third installment in that series done. It's pretty bleah, but I'm happy with the accompanying spreadsheet. I would post it here, but you can't put XLS files in attachments on this board.

according to your final installment, i'm not too far off on my lil mock draft for us.

I only went to the 4th round because anything beyond that is even more impossible to predict.

what i have us doing is

2nd. Damian Williams..USC W.R

3RD. Arthur Jones...Syracuse D.T

4TH John Skelton....Fordham Q.B

One thing you mention often is the need for a Defensive End. I just dont see one in this draft whos really going to be much of an uprgade over Everette Brown(essentially this years first round pick) in this draft, especially in the 2nd round and beyond.

I just think that we really have only three decent Ends on the roster now in Brayton, Brown, and Johnson. We need four for our rotation, and if we can get an Al Wallace type our line shouldn't suffer much at all.

And it's really my own opinion, which admittedly doesn't count for much. :)

How did you like the spreadsheet? I encourage you to adjust the players the way you see fit, I think it really helps you to mock when you can see it all visually like that.

I'm hoping that the theory of good WRs falling actually happens. If Tate makes it out of the first round we need to do something to trade up and get him. I think his ability is far and away better than either Demaryus Thomas or Damian Williams.

speaking of opinions that don't count for much...

My opinion is that of that we are not far from being a damn good team. alot of strong pieces in place that just need some complients such as wide reciever. I really want 2 starters out of this draft to help us get there. Somebody to pair with Smitty and a D.T. to line up next to Leonard.

    • For a 3rd year QB? That flies with the Teppers and makes the HC and GM look like fools.  Their fear is evident. Their careers are tied to making it work, it's ehy they signed on here and they are professionals who knows what kind of a situation they could potentially have on their hands if they are not calculating about popping up Bryce. I call BS to that sir. It's why every QB after Bryce couldn't make any other rosters past a PS spot...at best
    • Not just Dalton.   But the only real young arm they would let be seen the past 2 years was a really a bad Jack Plummer.  Who was super weak even for that tier  Can’t convince me how weak they made the atmosphere around Young hasn’t been intentional.
    • Things of note: mentions he has six drops. Six. For all the people that don’t know what a drop is, he has six. That’s a long distance from the league leader at ten. (To be fair, pro football reference has him at seven, still not bad.  Plenty of others is that same range.  His drop % is 6.3, which is low.) Catchable ball success ratio: 83% which is great. Catchable being the key word.  Mentions his contested catch rate is low at 5/18 but that’ll get better I think when he can rely on muscle memory for routes, catches, etc and the game slows down for him
