insiders believe as many as ten receivers could be selected in the second round

I dont think 10 will go but I could see a run on WR in the 2nd

One team seemingly likely to pull the trigger on a player at the position in the second frame is the Dallas Cowboys.

The team has met extensively with several potential second round receivers including Arrelious Benn of Illinois, Brandon LaFell of LSU and Ohio’s Taylor Price. In fact Jerry Jones personally met with Price on his recent visit to the Cowboys facility and spent extensive time with him.

Price is moving up draft boards and has likely cemented himself as a second round pick. Besides visiting the Cowboys, the speedy wide out has worked out with the Carolina Panthers

I could see maybe 6 going.. Bay Bay Thomas, Damian Williams, Arrelious Benn, Taylor Price, Mardy Gilyard, Brandon LaFell..

Guys with an outside shot are: Dexter McCluster, Carlton Mitchell, Eric Decker, and Jacoby Ford but I highly doubt any of these guys will get taken in the 2nd.

I believe only 2 WRs will get taken in the 1st.. Bryant and Tate.

We have no chance at Bryant.. and very little shot at Tate. We will end up with Benn or Damian Williams. Bay Bay will more than likely goto the Bucs before us in the 2nd.

I don't think we will get Damian Williams because I think Pete Caroll will pick up his reciever before we even pick.

I could see: Damian Williams, Bey Bey Thomas, Rejus Benn, Brandon LaFell, Mardy Gilyard, Taylor Price, Andre Roberts, Dexter McCluster and Eric Decker.

It also seems teams are falling for Taylor Price...I wish there were some vid I only seen the one on youtube of him.

I've heard the Panthers are very high on the guy. BTW if you want to see him you can watch the Ohio vs Vols (09/26/09) in SEC Digital Network website and if you want i can send you a PM with megaupload links for his Bowl Game (against Marshall).

Regards!!

Regardless of how many may be taken, I still think Carolina is moving up in this years draft one way or another

JR won't let us trade next year's 1st rounder.. but if we can move up a different way, then maybe..

    • Their use of the phrase questionable QB situation fits perfectly. He is stuck, for the moment at least, in a situation with Bryce that he can't really get out of. There have been improvements for Young, but he hasn't been a world changer. He had horrible coaching first year and was saddled with a broken down remnant of what had been an afterthought team anyway. There's one year left to keep him on the cheap with the idea that if he cranks out a great season, we've got first dibs on him for the next. If he tanks out, then off to free agency Young goes to either a QB whisperer-type situation or becomes a fairly battle tested back up QB. And we get something to add into our compensatory picks formulation. This is a make or break year for Young, but not for Morgan or Canales.
    • If they lose the ECF in wimpy fashion, like anything less than a Game 7, its time to can Rod.
    • Do you people really give no credence to the fact that Carolina’s went almost two weeks between games while Montreal played an intense seven game series that just ended Monday? That break was too much to be ready to go, and it showed.   The Canes pressed in the first, likely from overzealousness to prove the layoff wasn’t too much. once the Canes settled into their game without pressing, the game was much tighter. Every year, posts in the Panthers forum question how little the starters play in the preseason? Why is that? Because we all know not going at game speed against an opponent can lead to a slow start when the games turn real. Even with prior ECF disappointments, I’m going to hope last night was more akin to starters not playing in the preseason.
