I mean, Carr didn't look too great today. I still don't think Reich was right about that, unless you just want an average QB that can play above average at times, as well as get you an early postseason exit (if you're lucky to get there).

Last season, I'd have settled for "better than Bryce Young"

"Not handing the Chicago Bears the #1 overall pick" would have been nice too.

Well, I wasn't hot on the trade either. Trading away day one and day two picks always makes me shake my head. To get someone "better than Bryce" doesn't mean we had to acquire Carr, far from it (especially if you consider what Dalton is doing today). I'd just assume have a journeyman like Dalton than overpay for Carr (whether it be in capital, draft capital or a combination of the two). And I said something similar when we were debating about Carr. He was a bad value in my opinion.

Tbh, Reich wasn't wrong at all.  All the other factors he was supposedly wrong about look much different when you have a QB who can actually play football.  He knew he was put in an impossible situation with a guy he didn't want who he knew couldn't play NFL QB.  Everything he did after we drafted Bryce, I think he knew was a lost cause.

Interesting to bring up.

There was a lot wrong with last year.  Reich's offenses have performed alright under the right circumstances with guys like Rivers, Wentz, Ryan, Dalton for a game.  He was however slipping a bit behind the times and became predictable.  But his hot streak in the early to mid 2010s ended and he became a bit dated as a HC.  Got lucky with good coordinators and having a good network of guys post-Luck.  And he was at a point where he didn't need to try anything new, rather just consult or retire, but alas, then he did.  

What he was installing just didn't work with the supporting cast of coaches and personnel.  He went out of his comfort zone (whether forced or not) and it blew up in crazy fashion.

I have a hard time casting him in a poor light even though it was pretty damn bad.  Wrong coach at the wrong time with a GM and org that made the wrong moves at important positions.  Just a calamity of commotion with a mix of traditionalists and newer minds, players not fitting schemes.  It was just chaos.
