Dukes calls out Baldinger on Panthers Draft Choice

As much garbage as Jamie Dukes talks about the Carolina Panthers he really gets on Baldingers ass about a C+ and Baldinger really can't back his comments.

We should be closer to an B+ to A-. Our entire offense minus Matt Moore is a drafted Player.

Over half of our defense are drafted Players with the Core Beason, Davis, Gamble and Marshall being top dogs.

Go Panthers

I threw up in my mouth a little when I saw Dukes giving Carolina some love.

They say that miracles happen and I just witnessed Dukes pausing to stop slobbing ATL's knob to slobber a little on Carolina.

It was more a surprize that Baldinger gave us a C+ in the first place.

yeah, that's weird. jamie dukes + carolina = jamie dukes on crack. i've always hated baldinger, cause he's one of those band wagon fruits. he'll be behind the panthers all the way when they're winning, but when it's the offseason or they aren't winning, he's all about the saints. and his finger is gross. he should've had it cut off and got a robot finger instead... would've been way cooler.

LOL @ Baldinger praising the Saints for all the good offensive lineman they've drafted and then giving us a C.

Name another team in the NFL that could lose both starting tackles, replace them with two guys drafted in late rounds and not skip a beat.

New Orleans got their core from the draft when 3 of the key players to their SB victory were FA's? Drew Brees, Pierre Thomas, Garrett Hartley.. I can guarantee you that great 'core' of players would look like poo with Jake Delhomme taking snaps.

I think we're tied with NO at B+, but that guy just made me mad. I love when he started back peddling when Dukes called him out on it.

I have actually been watching those last couple of games on NFL rewind (worth $15 a month) and I really watch there replacements and it wasn't pretty. Our coaching staff (or maybe it was just Moore) did a great job of both playcalling and scheme to roll out Matt or have him get rid of the ball quickly.

Scwartz did not play nearly as well as I had thought, whiffing on blocks about the only time he didn't get beat was when he had help from King. He got better as the year went on but against the Vikes he was awful and he didn't do to much better against the Giants.

All that makes you wonder just how good Matt could be with a solid oline in front of him.

one dude thought we should have a c+ and the other dude thought we should have a b. it's only 2/3rds of a full grade difference. it's not like we're making a run in the playoffs year in and year out. plus, we may have a lot of drafted players on our team, but we usually dump rounds 4-7 after a few years and just replace them with new rounds 4-7 guys. i think a b- is probably better, but c+ isn't a stretch. we have had many 2nd round busts in fox's tenure. that is unacceptable as far as i'm concerned.

    • If we were a solid winning organization most of us would have no problems with this selection. We would have had a capable starter in place to allow him to be eased into the rotation. If were told prior to the draft that he had been completely cleared health wise, we "probably" wouldn't have a ton of reservations about this selection. If we had picked this young man on Day 3 of the draft most of us would have no problems with this selection because we wouldn't have had to use draft capital to move up and get him. Unfortunately, none of the above were true 1)  We were a terrible team in 2023 and needed an immediate impact player. 2)  He was hurt near the the end of the 2023 NCAA season. We traded up to get him even though we knew he wasn't medically cleared to play in 2024. 3) When training camp started we were hearing stories that the knee wasn't ready. That alone should have raised some red flags. I personally would have red-shirted him in 2024 in order to have him ready for 2025. We had Chubba as our lead back and other guys to fill the #2 and #3 spots on the depth chart. There was no need to rush Brooks unto the field in 2024. Here's our draft history in the 2nd round between 2021 and 2024 2021 TMJ 2022 No draft choice. We picked Matt Corall in round 3 (#94) as our only Day 2 pick. 2023 Jonathan Mingo 2024 Jonathon Brooks. We have taken 4 skill players on Day 2 of the draft for the past 4 years who have contributed absolutely nothing to the offensive side of the football. 3 are no longer on the team. Two of them are no longer in the NFL. One  could possibly never start a game due to a knee injury. This type of poor drafting is why this team has been so bad for the entire decade.
    • Even limited as he was I still don't think they have replaced his production, and not just the sack stats. The games Clowney missed it was very obvious what his value still was. Risky move but whatever. They only had 32 sacks last year and if that drops then it's going to get ugly. I see the improvement in run stopping but not in pass protect in any way.
    • I have zero issues with this.
