So what's the plan with Moton?

I'm going to be the odd man out here but whatever.

You get rid of him. He's already older than Kawaan short when he started falling apart.

He's a fan favorite and this franchise has the worst luck with resigning guys like this and then they ride IR for 2-3 years. If he was 3 years younger than sure. Realistically, he probably only has 1-2 good years left before he starts to decline.

Put Christensen there, or slide Ekwonu over and draft a real LT not an overrated Guard.

We need to do him like the Chargers did Okung. They were about the same age btw.

You can probably ride with his contract into next year but, I would bail after that.

I agree.  I think Belicheick or someone said you cut players a year early. Meaning you don't wait until they start to decline. 1 you get pieces if you trade or two you don't have pay out the wazzoo and then regret once Father Time comes knocking.  It's a cold business

Can't argue with you much on this. I've been banging the drum for years now that we need to take a center in the draft, and I have said grab the best one available, first or second rounds. I know, they say you never take them in the first, but the best O-lines in the league generally have a guy they grabbed there or the second. I'm not sold that we can't do better at center than we have now, although things have been better.

And yeah, I see about two more years for Moton after this one and Icky will be looking for money. Icky still needs to improve, though. He's getting better with good guard help and experience, but he's still not in the top half of the LTs starting in the league.

Center is a very underrated position.

Center is a very underrated position.

Has the ball on every offensive snap.

Calls line protection schemes and adjustments.

Often squares up against the biggest man on defense.

On running plays is often tasked with making second level hits.

Sometimes wears a bear costume and buys ads in the local paper declaring this will be a playoff year.

Sorry, kinda missing Ryan Kalil there.

We went from Mitchell to Kalil and I think a lot of fans took the position for granted.

    • Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan is putting the league on notice early into his NFL career, and 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan is well aware.  “I think he’s a stud,” Shanahan told reporters Thursday. “He’s going to be one of the best receivers in this league sooner than later. He’s got all the skill sets to do it, and I think he’s just getting started.”  Through 11 games played, McMillan has racked up 748 receiving yards on 54 receptions. He ranks sixth in the NFL in receiving yards and leads all rookies in the category.  Carolina selected McMillan as the No. 8 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. San Francisco had the 11th overall pick.  Did the receiver out of Arizona catch Shanahan’s eye in draft preparation?  “Yeah, big time,” Shanahan said.  Shanahan also said that he thought the receiver would be taken well ahead of the 49ers’ draft position, but the team did their due diligence when scouting the best overall draft picks in the 2025 class. With McMillan off the board, San Francisco ended up selecting defensive end Mykel Williams with the 11th pick to bolster its defensive line. https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/nfl/san-francisco-49ers/kyle-shanahan-tetairoa-mcmillan/1893558/
    • Koochie is playing his best hockey yet so far but it’s a small sample size
    • In basically every win but Atlanta he's had 2-3 plays that were a big deal but he also was part of why we needed those 2-3 plays instead of just cruising.
