Because the ball is snapped when hunt slaps the center on the thigh. The rest of the line is going off hunt. That’s why when it looked like everyone else moved but mays at the goal line, the refs called a false start on hunt. It’s weird and they didn’t show a replay because I’m not sure anyone realized what happened

They could be doing the snap like this for a few reasons and I’m not positive but…

1. Bryce can only read the field when the lineman are in their stance. He’s getting a play from Canales, then he puts someone in motion to see if it’s man or zone, then hikes and hunt hits the center. The downside is this takes a long time and the offensive line have to hold that position for a while.

2. they can’t hear Bryce’s cadence. This would also explain why they never hard count

3. They’re taking something off their backup centers hands so he can focus on the snap/pulling/whatever

4. it keeps Bryce from having to go under center

No no no just stop. They can’t hear the snap? It’s a home game in the crowd is dead silent.  The center should never move unless it’s snapping the ball. Both of his false starts were literally him rocking backwards before he snapped it. That is undisciplined football.

Yeah almost like the 170 pound qb is too small to be heard. Like off the top of your head what does Bryce’s cadence sound like? You can obviously hear cams in your had right away, for comparison

also lol “home game” Dallas fans were at least 2:1

Your spellcheck, autocorrect, or whatever is failing you. Canales has been getting praise from many podcasts and sports media. He is getting quite a bit more out of this team than people imagined. They have loss five or more games by less than one score. That happens all the time during a rebuild/turn around. You have to learn how to win and part of that is penalties. There is positivity around the team now and the last thing they need to do is fire their head coach. They do have a lot of penalties, but they have been dealing with a new system, youth, and injuries all season long. It is just the way the cookie crumbles with those factors in play. Now please be quiet.🤣

    • Jake in his prime was a gutsy QB. But just like with even someone like Cam. Father time is undefeated. It's very unfortunate we have a guy who is only 24 years old that has an equivalent arm to that. Absolutely blows my mind that our brain trust lacked the basic common sense to value arm talent when making a massive trade with ramifications for years to come. Unforgivable incompetence.
    • Jake, to me, will always hold a special place in my heart.  I really feel like for his era, he deserved way more love than he got, and should’ve had more than his one Pro Bowl.  He was a gamer with an underrated rocket arm. but let me tell you, after his Tommy John surgery, when he came back, I can’t remember who it was against, but it think it was a division game, he threw a ball that was supposed to be a throw away, as I think he was under pressure, and that poo floated forever and died right at the boundary where a defender ran over and picked it off.  One of the worst throws I ever saw.  His arm just wasn’t the same after the injury and surgery.  All that to say, that’s what almost every Bryce throw to the sidelines looks like to me.
    • And again, when watching him in college he had one distinct trait that I feel makes a franchise QB - on those plays when everything breaks down around him, he creates one on his own.  He doesn’t rely on or need everyone else.  That play last night on the final drive where he was getting sacked and threw it to Diggs before his knee hit the ground?  He does similar things all the time.  Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, etc., they all do it.  It’s what made Cam so special. but we picked a guy that’s the opposite of that.  He desperately needs someone else to make a play for him because he can’t.  Even that play yesterday on 4th down to Horn.  That wasn’t a great pass.  The defender was late and came down to make a play in the ball and Bryce threw it high and outside where Horn had to leave his feet and really use strong hands to catch it.  We relied on a 5’9” rookie playing in his first pro game to make THAT catch at THAT time bc of the early turnovers and a not great throw.  Crazy.
