3rd in division and of course, no playoffs and adios to fox and friends.

Me: 2-1

Panthers: 0-3

(can i take back my pre-draft 8-8 call? we'll be luky to win 4. rams, brown, seahawks and cardinals.)

that is very possible. all it takes is winning 3 more games though and we go 11-5. i don't know that we lose both saints games. we almost always split with our divisional opponents. the steelers are in a bit of disarray, so that could be a win. we could beat either the bengals or 49ers on a good day.

then again, we could lose both falcons games. we could lose against the cardinals or the bears on a bad day. i think it's really up in the air. we could have a losing season, or get a first round playoff bye.

Losing to the 49'ers. Are you seriously smoking dope?

the 49ers aren't the same bottom ranked team they had been for a while. on a good day their defense is rough, and alex smith to vernon davis was a force last year. they could beat us, or we could beat them. i think we'd be the favorite going in, unless we just stink next year, but it's not in the books.

I predict less than 8 wins at this point. The team doesn't do much in free agency (Chris Harris, Muhsin Muhammad, Maake that's about all I can think of who contributed heavily in the past few years).

The draft picks are really bad, half of them are 6th round or later.

might as well give it up folks. these guys have already decided it's a lost cause.

maybe they will crawl in a hole and hibernate until the season is over or go be fans of a team that actually has a chance.

maybe the saints will let them aboard their bandwagon unless they just like being depressed and hopeless.

It won't help to jump on the Saints bandwagon considering the Saints are going to look bad this season.

    • The thing I hate about strength of schedule is that NFL teams change so much over a year and past success or failure doesn't really dictate future success or failure
    • Considering you previously struggled to understand BTT despite it being explained in a video, write-up, and multiple replies, I get why this might be a little too complex for you. Happy to clarify again! Just let me know which part tripped you up this time. 😉
    • And, honestly, there's only so much you can attempt to do in the draft. And every draft pick is a roll of the dice. But that's where grabbing a ton of UDFAs, and targeting the best, makes a big difference. Sure, their individual chances of getting a hit here is less, but that shotgun pattern might just hit something.  Right now, we need bulk, partly to rebuild and partly to dilute the deep level of stank that has developed on this team in the last six years. If we're going to rebuild a culture built around culture, accountability and winning, then these UDFAs we bring in each season have to be the wash water that gets out that leftover dirt.  Canales seems to be a smart, culture-first, build up the good ones kind of guy. I like that and I hope he can keep it going here. But he was working against a locker room that had been taught to lose and taught to distrust or ignore coaches. He's got his work cut out for him, still. He does seem to have it moving in the right direction and that's something I was pretty amazed with by the end of last season.
