Now boarding the Tony Pike Bandwagon...

The more I read up on this kid the more I like him. Has a real soft touch on the ball when he needs to drop it in a tight spot. I have read a few sites mentioning his "Brett Favre" like toughness, playing through pain and injury. Won the Johnny Unitas award and has show blue collar work ethic.

Seems like more of a leader than Jimmy Jam and has had to scrap for every bit of attention he has gotten while leading Cinci to an undefeated season.

All Aboard!

He has allot of potential, just needs to put some weight on or he's gonna get snapped in half.

He's 6'6" and 235 pounds. That's pretty big. Besides, he won't have to worry about getting snapped in half while he's holding a clipboard.

The question is, can he be as worthy of your obsession with backup QBs as Chris Weinke was?

Well, one thing is for certain, any of our three guys could step in and perform better than Jake did last season. ;)

Well, he's certainly got the looks to hold a clipboard, which is a point in his favor. Have you noticed how the Observer runs his picture any time they can, instead of Clausen's?

But we're the Panthers, and we play our goofy looking guys while the dreamboats ride the pine. Sorry bud...

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
