Pat Kirwan lists FB Rashawn Jackson among potential undrafted gems

Fiametta just seemed a little timid at times. I'm used to Hoov sticking his head in a gap and blasting somebody. Fiametta seemed to tip toe when he was in. That could be because he wasn't 100% on play recognition and reads, so maybe this season he'll hit the gap with more confidence.

Takes awhile to learn the position. That being said, so many teams have several good TE's now a days that push comes to shove we should be able to snag a top flight vet cheap.

I like Tony, but I've never liked the 4th rounder used to snag him.

I don't see fiametta being able to replace Hoover anytime soon. That's one of the losses I'm most worried about. Almost everywhere else we have younger, better guys to step in.

Watching the few games where Fiametta got playing time he wasn't very aggressive as a blocker.

It seems with the addition of recent additions of sutton, goodson, fiametta, and edwards that we are trying as hard as we can to get as many fresh legs as possible to run behind the O-line.

I'm thinking we keep both Jackson and Fiametta on the squad this year. FB is such a vital part of our rushing offense, it's almost laughable to think we'd skimp at the position. Sutton coming in and doing well might preclude us from doing this, but personally, I'd rather keep 2 FBs and 3 or 4 RBs than an extra corner or 7 LBers. Yeah, I'm that sold on the importance of the FB to us.

Sutton was a better fullback than Fiametta.

IDK about that but Fiametta definitely didn't impress me. Thats why I thought the Hoover release was a boneheaded mistake considering how little he was making and how unproven TF was.

    • I think where they would be picked if redrafted before both classes have played enough football to really tell.  Baker literally looked like a washout with us after Cleveland gave up on him, then turned world beater with the Rams, got a prove it deal with the Bucs and has looked awesome ever since. Asking where Ward would’ve went had he went in ‘24 is just stupid.  I’m no GM, but I wouldn’t have taken Williams #1 either.  I would’ve taken Joe Milton way higher than he went.  I think Shadeur should’ve been a first round pick this year.  Point being, opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one.  It’s my opinion that Ward has that “something special.”  I get that feeling that he’ll be an even better pro than he was a collegiate QB because of whatever that quality is.  I think he’s gonna surprise a lot of people, especially being such an under appreciated first overall pick.
    • Where do we get our T-shirts and hats? Pretty sure this is the first championship ever in professional basketball or football in Charlotte!
    • Nice turnaround for Kon.  I’m still a little worried about his ability to create for himself and others, but it was SL.  Come regular season, he will playing a much different role and shots will be there for him.  He showed some reason for hope - and not just him, but the whole squad.  I suppose for the first time ever, we have drafted and acquired enough young talent that we actually not only competed for once, but won the whole thing in summer league.     Kon, Simpson, and Sims made all the difference.  Almost every year prior I felt we always struggled because we usually didn’t have a floor general/real PG to get us into offense.  This was such a breath of fresh air.  And look at us!  We finally are champions!😂
