Gotcha. So it pretty much is statutory rape. Doesn't sound like serious repercussions for him. Thanks Jangler, I didn't feel like researching it....

Sex with a minor is a strict liability offense- there is no defense. If you did it, you guilty. Simple as that.

Forgive me for not feeling like reading past the 2nd page of this thread, but I have to ask first - How was he supposed to know the girl's age?

For all he knew he was having sex with a grown woman, you have to admit you can't tell a girl's age all the time anymore.

2nd, she was a prostitute apparently... Maybe this is why the max sentence he would face is 5 years instead of 20 to life?

The point is....it does not matter if he knew her age. You have sex with an underage girl (even if she consented) and it is Statutory Rape.

The question then becomes, was it reasonable for him to believe she was 19? This involves not only physical maturity, but other indications that she was not a minor.

The fact that there is such a large difference in age between LT and the girl means that he will most likely be found guilty of statutory rape.

I never said it was right, only that is the way it works. Luckily I am young enough that I have been within the 4-year grace period up until recently.

      I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
