Since adding Clausen, and possibly moving on from Foxy..

Do you think that JR may be changing his philosophy a bit and going to a more balanced/pass heavy offense?

I mean 3 out of the final 4 teams from last years playoffs could throw the rock like nobodys business.

And I bet that if you were to play that SD/NYJ game again 10 times SD would win 8 of them, and you would have 4 of 4 that can really chunk the rock.

Just wondering what you guys think, and also if you would be for or against making this transition?

I highly doubt that SD would win more than 50%.

Jet's defense was just stupid good last post season.

Not 100% sure JF has "moved on" from Fox either.

3 missed field goals by the NFL's highest % kicker ever, and lose by 3 points?

Come on man.....

Maybe not 100%, but it seems very likely...

wait just a damn minute here...it's the offseason, I can bring up all kinds of stupid stuff to discuss;)

I believe Hurney and Fox are trying to get back to having a balanced offense.

On our way to Superbowl 38, from December on, we had one of the most balanced attacks in the league. Yes. We still rushed a lot. But we also lead the league in most passes of 40+ yards.

The offense really need to be hitting on all cylinders to keep that kind of balance going. I can give reasons why we.ve had trouble sustaining that balance since then, but I don't have the time right now to go into it.

Jr is a smart owner. Yes, he has his say on how things are done, but he also let's the people he hired, manage and lead the football side of the franchise.

Al Davis, he is not.

You can try and chase down what everyone else is doing all the time or you can dedicate your team to being the best in what it does. I think the end of last year demonstrated just how elite our team can be against those very teams with vaunted passing attacks. If anything, that should be the blueprint for how to absolutely dismantel the opposition by exploiting their weaknesses.

The great run first teams of the past few years have not been as consitent as the pass first teams, that much is fact.

It's also a fact that this team with a proper caretaker at QB blistered the opposition for the most part. This was without two of our offensive playmakers and two of our defensive standouts.

Come on now Kurbie...give me your "run first" teams over the past 3 years vs. the pass first teams over that same time period.

The most consistent run first teams over the last few years has been the Steelers, and even they had quite a few 3,000 plus yard passing seasons lately.

Pass first lately, Indy, NE, SD, Philly, NO...etc.

Not really saying that they are better, or can't be beat, but those teams over the past few years have been very consistent.

Minny is a perfect example of what I would like to see here...great run and pass game...not 1 dimiensional at all.
