Will you miss Peppers or Delhomme more?

I really think we need a season separated from both to really gauge this, cause that's when its really going to matter.

Before that happens:

I've gotta say Jake will always be remembered as a Panther and far exceeded any expectations of him from day one through the day he got injured. It's a shame that previous team success and his injury resulted in failure to meet the higher expectations in the end. It's too bad he won't be on the roster as a backup, since you never know what intangibles he brings to the table even in a backup scenario.

Julius Peppers has the best total resume of any defensive player ever drafted by the Panthers and had many magical moments here. He was the man on the defensive line/defense that could change a game with one explosive play. He won't be replaced very easily and he will be missed more than Jake this year as a contributing player, but that's not the question as I read it.

This boils down to Julius' lack of desire to lead or even be on this team and Jake's unwavering desire to lead and be a part of this team. I won't miss Julius for those reasons, it's best for him to be gone. I can easily miss Jake for his attitude and leadership even when he couldn't deliver on the field.

I'll miss the 6-7, 280+, 4.5, #90 Jersey and the occasional freak INT/sack. Peppers was a special talent for us that will be missed whether you like it or not but I will not miss controversial effort/want/motivation that he brought. He's not what we need anymore. It's a new/better era in Carolina.

Jake was once a good QB that had that luck/it factor but he has fallen so far. We have 2 QBs on the team that will most likely be better than he ever was. I'll miss the person Jake, but again it's a new era. Peace.

I know its been said a million times but if Jake Delhomme had Pep's size and athleticism oh my god that would be a hell of a football player. I am going to miss Jake for his competitive nature, then again how fiery can a back-up qb be. I will not miss Pep. It was his time to leave, I've been bracing myself an entire year for this possibilty.

Jake without a question. He always try to help us win until the games is over, even when it look like we won't win (the game against Chargers, Playoffs against the Rams, etc.) or even when we do lose a game. Pep on the others hand will take play off sometime & not care what happend. Yeah, he was a great player & all but he lack heart with his stubborn sometime. For peak's sake, he even smiles sometime when we're losing a game. That not the kind of player we should have there.

And at least Jake want to stay here & Pep doesn't. Pep is also the reason why Jake got an a new contract last year to save our salary. And why we trade our 2010 1st round pick to get Brown.

As a person, I will miss Jake more... but from a football standpoint I will miss Peppers more since he had much more left in the tank than Jake.

I was always a Peppers fan, yes he took plays off but he was still incredible to watch.

Sorry, I'm a Delhomme fan through and through. He'd be my choice, but not as a slight to Peppers, just a personal preference.

Pep was supposed to be one of the greats, he had the size, the skills and just freakish athletic ability. Jake was the everyman who rose up when he got the chance and shined. One was a natural wonder of the world, the other was reaffirmation that we all can do something if we work hard enough at it.

    • 100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
    • "Well you see if you remove this terrible game that terrible game this other terrible game and then focus on these games you'll see he's actually one of the better QB's in the league and he's actually as good as Jayden Daniels". My god this place is delusional. I love it.
