- Morgan also offered updates on some of the others among the 21 unrestricted free agents they entered the offseason with (after already extending Andy Dalton and JJ Jansen).

- He said the intention was to bring back both center Austin Corbett and backup Cade Mays, keeping the offensive line group intact. And while there's been speculation about Taylor Moton's future because of his cap number, Morgan said the intention was to keep him under his current deal as well, knowing they can revisit it in the future.

- He also said that kicker Eddy Piñeiro was going to be allowed to test the market and that they were looking for other kickers after signing Matthew Wright recently.

"We are going to let Eddy test the market; his agents can be here; they can kind of see what his value is," Morgan said. "Definitely not going to close the door on that, but at the same time, we will be actively looking."

- He said the team wanted to bring back punter Johnny Hekker and were in discussions on that front, that would lend some stability on special teams for a new kicker, since Hekker has experience working as a holder with Jansen.

- He also mentioned tight end Tommy Tremble as a player they wanted to bring back.

According to Joe Person's report and Dan Morgan's comments; the team will attempt to bring back the following players:  Johnny Hekker, Austin Corbett, Cade Mays, Sam Franklin, David Moore while Tommy Tremble will be allowed to test free agency.

So if Thomas is also walking, we have 1 TE on the roster?

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
