Gazette think's Jarrett may be released

Recommended Posts

Wow you are just throwing darts at a board here and reading what they land on.....D.J. is praised for his practice performance on a regular basis' date=' also D.J. has developed into a more then serviceable blocker all you have to do is watch the games to see some of the blocks he has been able to seal off. Also lets be honest the biggest reason the guy didn't hold down the #3 spot is because he doesn't play special teams and Moore does....[/quote']

So a guy as talented as Jarrett, who catche anything thrown his way, and has been praised at practice on a regular basis, wasn't our #3 for a lot of the year because he doesn't play special teams?

Are you high?

I said it's the biggest reason, not the only reason. I'm not saying Jarrett is completely innocent, he didn't learn the playbook nearly as fast as he should have and has given up on routes if he feels like he isn't part of the play (name a WR who hasn't). But to say that Jarrett hasn't gotten on the field because he cant block and he sucks in practice is inaccurate....

Gantt noted that Jarrett "always looks great in practice,"

It is time for Jarrett to show up. He has no one ahead of him like Moose who will impede his ability to play with the 1s and get plebty of playing time. With Smith out in preseason, Jarrett will be counted on as a "go to" guy. If he can't beat out two rookies being the experienced veteran, he doesn't need to be kept. It really is the perfect storm for him to come in and show what he can do. It is his job to win or lose. At some point if he plans to be here, he has to win the job and he knows what is at stake. Otherwise why would we keep him beyond his rookie contract?

I hope he finally figures it out and does well.

Jarrett was as much our No. 3 receiver as any last year. Fact of the matter is that, in this offense, the No. 3 won't receive many targets after the Smith, Moose and the tight ends.

It really is difficult to judge any of our receivers off of last year with Delhomme at the helm. Let's see if he impresses in training camp this year. If not, I'd like to see another young receiver get a shot.

Agreed it's all on D.J. from here out. If he can impress in TC and the preseason then he should be the two, if not he needs to find another home....I'm confident in my belief that he will silence his critics and be the receiver everyone thought we drafted.....

hahaha Look at all the excuses people make for this scrub after he's been a total failure for THREE YEARS. Would anyone be talking about him or even care at all if he was an UDFA rather than a 2nd round pick out of USC.

Where he was drafted and what he did in college means about jack poo right now. He's a bust and a waste of a roster spot. Time to move on people.
