"Dallas Cowboys rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant said he didn't know about the tradition of carrying a veteran's shoulder pads, and said Tuesday that he will take care of the matter."

"I didn't know nothing about no tradition," Bryant said. "The only thing about me ... when I try to do something right, ya'll try and turn it negative and I don't feel like that's right. I'm trying my best to do the right thing but it seems like I can't do the right thing because every little thing that I do ya'll watching it and try to make a big deal out of it."

Right, I guess you are a ruh-tard after all.

That's some classic Agent-speak (albeit worded in his own fashion) right there- take criticism of a mistake and turn it on the press... dang, the dude hasn't played 1 pro game yet and already "y'all" (the press) are after him.

Delicious. He's going to be entertaining watching in post-game interviews

Dez Bryant's Wonderlic was like, 16. But, look at Chris Johnson. Not the brightest sounding guy in the world...2,000 yard season.

How he said it makes no difference to me. I've long since realized that a lot of the players entering the NFL these days are not the brightest light bulbs, so I have absolutely no expectation for adherence to the rules of the English language.

That said, it's not about how he said something, but what he was intimating with his words. He's already taken on a "me vs the press" attitude and the cat hasn't even felt the real brunt of a post-game presser when/if he shits the bed in a game.

Dez Bryant is the best player to come out of this draft. He shouldnt have to carry anyones pads especially that loser Roy Williams.

yea, just like all the other HOFers to carried pads and didn't b**ch about it. not to mention the guys that are in the NFL right now that did it (and have already proven themselves at this level, and didn't say a peep. they are pads, not s**t

Yeah, that is a bit ridiculous. I do believe TOO much was made of this by the press, but all of the rookies were warned about these kind of things in the rookie symposium, I'm sure. The day he drops a TD pass that costs the team...you will see something from him that will rival A.I.'s "practice" speech.

Ike Reese (former Eagle who has a radio show) mentioned almost every team has at least 1 player each year who refuses to participate in the "hazing". He mentioned J Trotter was that way when they were rookies and Trotter was drafted in the 3rd round. Ike said he had to always carry extra pads and pick up extra lunch/dinner bills because Trotter refused to do it.

Dez does have a legit point but he is playing in a market that has a brutal media and he will be under their microscope for years to come because of the "baggage" and expectations he brings to "America's team". Suck it up and get used to it Dez, it isn't going away.

    • I mean, no I’m not going to panic when he got 2 Qs and looked great in 1 and looked not great in another (let’s not mention the drop).    Yeah we finally have a team that would be considered average offensively around him. Let’s roll this season.
    • The woe is me everything but Bryce sucks mantra is stale af my friend. Look nobody here is going to argue with the fact Frank Reich was not a good head coach. At the same time. Bryce Young is now in his second season with his second coaching staff and a handpicked young offensive head coach who has been known for working with QB's such as Baker and Geno. As far as the offensive pieces around Bryce we have the 4th highest salary cap allocation (that might be even higher now after the new Moton deal) dedicated to the OL in the entire league. We have 2 first round WR's one of them 8th overall the first time we've ever selected a WR that high in franchise history. And the fact of the matter is Bryce Young did not have a good preseason. It's not the first time it's happened either. We all hope to see he and the rest of the team flip a switch in week 1. But we should all be able to agree that the offensive performances we've seen from the entire QB room (Bryce included) in preseason was simply unacceptable.
    • We have seen Bryce play… what… 9 games with AT BEST what one would consider NFL average WRs? You just can’t see the forest for the trees and keep going back to your lazy take of revisionist history.    he looked AWFUL Y1 with the worst coaching I’ve ever seen in the NFL and one of the weakest WR rooms I can recall. He looked awful first half of y2 and great second half of y2 with average coaching and average skill position. I don’t know where this elite talent argument even comes from.
