Went to a casino up in Michigan yesterday. Played Texas hold'em and walked out with $400 in less than 3 hours. Amazing how many people dont know how to play.

How dose the casino win any money at Texas hold'em?

Snake, usually in most cases they take a rake of the pots, that being if its a cash game. In tournament form, they just take a percentage of the buy-in most likely.

And it's always nice to tip the dealers! ;)

Well now I see why the Casino loves it so much. Win or lose they get money. I love Texas Hold'em but most people that dont play it a lot start to pout when they lose all there money in a cash game. In Hold'em it just happens that way you can make your night on one pot or you can sit for hours building up.

It's especially annoying when those who know how to play, lose to someone who doesn't because they continually call and suck out when the odds are stacked against them. Just as stressful as golf.

 Guy got pissed at me yesterday, big pot and he called me got mad when I beat his pair of aces with two pair (10 and 4's). Got that on the flop. Odds are fine but you also have to factor in luck. Won another pot yesterday by getting a straight with the river card. Some of the guys was trying to play me I dont play that way play my cards. They thought I didnt know what I was doing. I did I just was playing unpredectiable (Wouldnt show my hand bidding low on great hand to intise someone to try to go all in).

You played T4? Please tell me you were BB and everybody else limped... otherwise, I'd be pissed too. T4 is an atrocious hand to play unless it's practically folded to you. No offense..

Skill always outlasts luck in the long term.

It was just me and him after the flop. He limped in so I knew I had him.

Please tell me if I am wrong... If you play poker, and I do mean play, is it not almost considered disrespectful to play those rags? Now I get posittion, an unraised BB, or SB with a bunch of limpers, the situation allows different things. They are your chips, you can put them in whenever you feel you want to, but you play them cards, suited or not, and you wont be winning many games. You will probably rake in a few pots, but thats winning a battle, not the war. You can come donk at my game anytime..

Yep. I agree. If it was online might be one thing but not in a tourney.

    • Saw this show up in my new feed. Nice to see a couple of our rookies making it into the top 5 so far, even if it is a pff measure... From https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-top-15-rookies-week-9-2025 ... 4. TE Mitchell Evans, Carolina Panthers (78.7) Evans struggled in the Panthers’ tight win over the Packers, finishing with a 41.8 PFF overall grade — third worst among tight ends this week. He was not targeted in the game and played only one snap in pass protection. He did log 15 run-blocking snaps, and although he earned a 68.9 PFF run-blocking grade in zone looks (seven snaps), his 39.0 mark in gap schemes (second worst for the week) dragged him down to a 46.6 PFF run-blocking grade overall — sixth worst for the week. Despite seeing zero targets over his past two games, Evans still leads the Carolina tight end group with a 74.3 PFF receiving grade. He has caught all nine of his targets for 90 yards, six first downs and two touchdowns. Evans also leads the Panthers’ tight end group in PFF run-blocking grade (72.2). He has recorded a 20.5% positive play rate across 175 snaps.  5. WR Tetairoa McMillan, Carolina Panthers (78.6) McMillan had a better day against the Packers, recording four catches for 46 yards. Most of that production came in the first quarter via two 16-yard catches — one of which he snatched from Carrington Valentine’s hands, who was in perfect position to break up the pass. McMillan accounted for three first downs on the day, although Green Bay was able to limit his impact after the catch, holding him to 0.8 yards after the catch per reception. McMillan now has 41 catches for 558 yards — a top-15 mark. He is also tied for second with 19 explosive gains of 15-plus yards. Three of McMillan’s catches against the Packers came between the numbers, bringing him to 22 for 318 yards and 19 first downs (tied for second most) this season. He owns a 26.1% threat rate and a 76.6 PFF receiving grade between the numbers. He also ranks in the top 10 in explosive gains (10) and yards after the catch per reception (5.5) within that area of the field.
    • At least we don't need to hear overreacting about towels ...
    • Actually there is, try being a Charlotte Hornets fan. I mean the team fuging moved at its peak and hasn't recovered since and that was 25 years ago
