Panthers will trade for a WR...

Its looking more and more likely to me. The obvious downfall of this squad this year and years to come is the lack of a legit receiver not named Steve Smith. No one likes to talk about it, but Smith is on the downward slope of his career. He will be losing a step from here on out starting last season.

Apparently drafting a WR is not our strong suit to say the least.

The only logical next step is trading one of our RB's for a WR.

It is hard to rationalize keeping 2 pro bowl caliber RB's and one extremely good RB (sutton) on the roster when we have zero depth at WR. None.

I know a team shouldn't play the loyalty card... but they've already stripped me of many of the players I grew accustomed to loving through the SuperBowl and beyond... If they were to trade away Jonathan or DeAngelo... I would have a hard time following them SMH...

Though I admit from a football perspective...I guess it would make sense....why have a bunch of jelly and no bread...

Would you trade sutton for a solid WR prospect? Lets be honest, a WR equivalent of Sutton would be an upgrade for us.

They won't trade one of our star RB's for a receiver.

Love your effort to stir the pot, but ya fail.

Name one team that has a receiver they are shopping, or would shop, that is worth trading for, and also have a need at running back.

Take your time, cause I'm sure you'll need it.

Sutton? Seriously? What are they gonna trade us? lol

You underestimate his value. Sutton is better than the majority of the backup RB's in the league.

Or do you not think teams value having a solid backup RB?

    • I agree this season is off to an absolute poo show, and trending towards a 4 or 5 win disaster, but I'd give Bill at least 3 years to make some improvements.  Right now the roster is a joke because of the late start to recruiting and the lack of money spent.  If they don't pull in at least 3 or 4 major portal guys going into next season - and especially a QB - then I'll give up all hope for this program eternally.  Even when Bill was hired, there was no part of me that thought he would lead to a national championship (ever) because we'll never compete with SEC and Big Ten money to attract elite talent.  But I do think Bill could put a program in place that results in 10 wins consistently (given the horrible ACC) and make us at least look like we've seen a football before.  That's more than Mack ever did in any season except for one, in his two tenures in Chapel Hill
    • Between Rhule and Wilks Baker was doomed regardless. While he was mismanaged he also was still an arrogant loudmouth back then let's face it. He needed the humbling to get to where he is now. But we did coddle tf out of Sam Darnold. And we've done it all over again with Bryce Young.
