Panthers will trade for a WR...

Dwayne Jarrett is going to be a solid number 2 and is way better then anyone we could get for Sutton or Goodson.

Yup, what team is going to give a proven usable WR for either one of them? The only WR I can think of is Vincent Jackson and SD is playing hardball with him. Also pretty sure only a double or a trouble will get the Chargers to move to trade Jackson.

I'm not gving up on them either. I'm just agreeing with Zod's point that the Panthers have never been able to fill that #2 WR spot with a future canidate. Moose did a great job but we all knew he was at the end of his career. Kerry Colbert was supposed to be the answer, then Drew Carter, then Dwayne Jarrett. See the pattern? I really think Lafell has something to offer and he will be a dominate reciever, but I think it's gonna take time. They need someone now.

I agree, but Fox and company need to win this year, if they want to stay here. I think a move might happen. But where is the WR we need now?

Is this a joke? Are people really talking about Sutton like he has some value outside of Carolina? Really?:skep: Almost every team around the league has a practice squad, 3rd string RB that they think highly of. Except for Denver.

Any one here who honestly thinks someone would trade a #2 type WR for sutton is a Homer. Sutton may be good in our system with our line and perform many different roles but he is not different that Snelling in ATL. At least Snelling got a lot of carries last year. WR are harder to develop than backs. There are lots of backs out there who can perform adequately at the NFL level. Hell look at washington? They have Portis, Johnson, Willie Parker, and Ladell Betts soon. Would you take Sutton over Willie Parker who might not even make the roster in D.C.?

Also, for the love of God, give the WR's we have more than 1 preseason game. Also, who knows what might happen by the end of camp. There may be a gem cut off another team or put on the practice squad because of depth issues. Saying that its "obvious" we don't have a second WR after one preseason game is hitting the panic button. Also trading our second best utility player for it is crazy. Sutton is backup FB and RB remember? jeezus

    • First, am I wrong? I looked back over all his posts here and I didn't see anything positive other than Shough. Second, pretty sure if you had read the post I was responding to, you would have seen CRA made poo personal as well . You just choose to address me instead of him. Not sure why?????
    • I wanted XL but I felt he should have been a 2nd rounder but I understand the logic trading up just to get the option. A safety net for your gamble.    Certainly disappointed with his receivers development but i like his down field blocking and I imagine that's what's keeping him on the field.
    • Pretty sure it is a given Young lacks typical QB size and strength and he is here simply because his other attributes more than make up for it. My point is not to indicate anyone "settled" for him but rather to remind people that there have been plenty of big, strong QB's that have not lived up to expectations. Jamis Winston, Anthony Richardson, Trey Lance, JaMarcus Russel are a few examples. They all have the physical attributes coveted by teams and yet none have had sustained success in the NFL. And yes, there are QBs that do have both but there aren't many and some of the ones still playing were failures with their early teams. Saying Young is a bust simply based upon his size (and I do think it is as simple as that for a few guys around here) is unfair to both him and the team.
