Some receiver names to consider

I know it's a popular idea, but don't see much chance we trade for T J Houshmanzadeh. Someone will, but probably not us.

Deon Butler had a good outing with the Seahawks last night. Could mean the team opts for him over Deon Branch, but both could stick if the team is successful in their efforts to move Houshmanzadeh.

Crayton as a cut is possible. He's overrated, in my opinion, but still might be better than Jarrett. Yet another long pass opportunity last night where, for one reason or another, Jarrett was out of position. Just makes me think it's time to give up, but whether the Panthers feel the same is unknown.

The injury to Sinorice Moss makes it more likely the Giants keep Ramses Barden.

Matt Willis (Broncos) and Adrian Arrington (Saints, Yasinskas mentioned him) are guys that could be interesting. Not sure either is a legit number two, so the team likely only goes for one of them (or someone like them) over Jarrett if they feel like Brandon LaFell can man the number two spot.

Here is to Johnnie Lee Higgins. He would solve the PR KR problem and be a decent option at receiver because he is a burner on the edge.

I know Mike Goodson had that really nice run back Preseason week 3 but he loves to run it out of the endzone with coverage coming down on him. Just like that night mare KR against the jets on the 5 yard line. I just do not trust his decision making and he sulks when he is told to down the ball.

I am not a fan of Crayton but he is a special teams option which is better than an injury marred Deion Branch. Branch has looked good this pre season.

ON a side note OLB Thomas Howard is also on the bubble for the Raiders? You have to love a team with knee jerk reaction management....take a shot he is better than Nic Harris.

Everyone else is pretty much still in the same status they were when this thread was started. Deion Branch (Seahawks) Josh Reed (Chargers) and Ramses Barden (Giants) are the names that register most with me. Michael Clayton (Bucs) is probably a more likely candidate than any of them, though.

I'm hoping we keep Reed, if for anything, an injury buffer. Cutting Reed would leave us @ Floyd/Naanee/Davis/Jeremy Williams/Ajirotutu. With Davis and Floyd's (pre 09) injury history, that could be a scary proposition if they get nicked.

Crayton is really the very best option. It is already being reported that he will be cut and has already asked that the Cowboys not wait until Saturday to do it. He can be a #2 on this team and PR.

After Crayton, the next best option would be Higgins. Again he would be an option for PR and he would bring a lot of speed. Not as reliable as Crayton probably but a threat non the less.

After those two there really isn't an option out there that makes sence. Yeah, we would all love to have Housh or VJac but lets be realistic.

    • Carolina Way is gone, it went out the window with the Belichick hiring. They'll hire the best coach they can, ignoring everything else if possible.    Athletic reports that the school's top two targets are Tommy Lloyd and Billy Donovan. They don't care the buyout for a coach either, they and the boosters are willing to spend and will be going outside of the coaching family tree 100%.
    • I don't think it's a homer though when I really feel this team can beat anyone.  The points that can be scored in bunches when the big three are on has high potential.  Moose has effort for days and IMO is the heart of the team.  And didn't see Miles becoming the team "vet" in the starting lineup just roleplaying lol.   We have to limit the turnovers though (Brandon Miller I'm looking at you bud, you are a bad ball handler) and some little things.   Colby off the bench is a cheat code and him and Kaulk have a nice little game going with the picks.    Sion playing every game and just getting better each game.  He has grit.  Grant and Green also grit.  We need replace Tillman with PJ Hall though.  Tillman looks like someone that shouldn't be on an NBA court, or at least with this team, he's just too slow for this tempo.   Even McNeely looked decent tonight and can drive.   If Kaulk and Moose could even be like 30% 3pt shooters man....
