Kenny Moore has "disappeared" since the first week of camp

is wright a kick returner too? that could be good, armanti didnt look too bad last week considering the conditions and all....we just need someone who can actually CATCH the ball and not drop it....not gonna say any names...

Wright's not a kick returner, but he's a damn good special teams gunner. That's primarily why he was brought in, but he's showing himself to be a decent receiver in camp and I've read that he's really motivated to prove himself as a receiver, since he's only played special teams heretofore.

And yes, I just said heretofore.

And Peppers will start for us this year, right? ;)

I wouldn't go that far.

lol @ the Pep thing... a lot of you are still heartbroken that I had you thinking I had some sort of inside knowledge... ;)

As for the DJ thing, I WILL GO THAT FAR!!!! :)

Throw your own identity up if you are so confident about the DJ situation...

I never said such things about the Pep thing, but I am pretty much 100% positive that DJ will make the roster...

Haven't you noticed how most reporters changed their tunes about him since before camp started, and its early days? It was all doom and gloom for DJ, and the recent reports are the complete opposite...

Put it in your sig for record keeping... If DJ is cut and Guy or Gettis make the team instead, I will ask that user Samuel L. Jackson be deleted from these forums, and I will start over...

ahahaha i was wondering aboot that word!

well special teams is definitely a place where we could use massive improvements, so i suppose the more the better! but if hes gonna break out as a receiver and perform...i wont complain there either. bring it!

But my Internet identity is all I've got!

I'm just messing with you about the Pep thing. For the record, I think DJ will probably make the team -- but I could see him being cut to make room for Gettis, especially if LaFell looks like a bonafide No. 2. I think LaFell more than anyone else will determine if Jarrett merits a roster spot.

Guy and Gettis may not even make the PS, but I am prety sure Gettis will be retained in some form and that is the most likely...

I think the PS this year will have at least two WRs anyways, and those two are my prime candidates...

You may be absolutely right! For me though, I just don't see Jarrett, a career underachiever, making the team with this much young talent in camp! Not to mention it doesn't seem like our #1 guy has a lot of faith in him and if anything this season, we will need cohesion of the field! Smitty has really put the word in for Guy and Lafell...I can see Guy making it

I really don't think they'll keep 6 WRs. They will go with 5 because they probably will want to have the 2nd kicker or extra DT or DE.

Here is what I think will happen:

Smitty

DJ

LaFell

Edwards

Wright

Gettis & Guy on PS. Maybe even Moore, if he is PS eligible.

I would rather see them keep a 5th DE instead of a 6th WR.

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
