Laveranues Coles and Antonio Bryant have been cut

Knowing how good Bryant can be if healthy, I would still take a chance on him.I mean, he can't be any worse than what we have now right?
So you would waste Money on a guy like Bryant who most liky will be on Injury list most of the year with his knee problem or even worse been put on IR period and plus he would have to learn the playbook on top of it. I wheather would wait until all teams make final cuts and look at the WR market then and see who is going to be out there. I'm sure a few big name WRs will get cut at the end for some reason or another.:yikes:

Chiefs got the party started with four guys you've likely never heard of. QB Bill Stull, RB Kestahn Moore, TE Cody Slate and T Tyler Eastman. Of the bunch, only Eastman plays a position that might be of mild interest, and he's an undrafted free agent out of Maine. Nothing to see here.

Jets have released three players at two positions much discussed among Panther fans. Two receivers: Aundrae Allison and Marcus Henry, and one defensive end, Rodrique Wright. Allison was an East Carolina guy who originally went in the fifth round to the Vikes. He's fast (4.39 at the combine) but the Vikes let him go because he was disappointing. He still is. Henry is a big receiver (6-4, 200+) who's been on the fringes of the Jets roster and probably doesn't offer that much. Wright's hurt a lot, and I honestly don't think DL is as big a concern as people thought.

Fair enough. I thought he was healthy enough to play, no?

Big stories of the weekend to date would be the departures of Lavereus Coles from the Jets and Antonio Bryant from the Bengals, but don't bother connecting the dots to the Panthers.

Coles is old, not what he once was and isn't interested in playing for anyone other than the Jets. The Jets may re-sign him after week one (a common roster trick so that they don't have to guarantee his salary). If not, he'll likely retire.

As to Bryant, the Bengals signed hm for four years and 28 million, so it's clear they had plans for him. But Bryant's knee has been an issue much of the offseason. Sadly, it's probably telling that the Bengals chose to outright release him rather than putting him on PUP or IR. My guess: he's done.

Cincy paid Bryant a big contract, then a few months later signed Owens and cut him, despite owing him a ton of cash.

I'm sure it means nothing. Sign him.

Umm have you been in outer space for a while and just got back or something. Bryant currently has a knee problem and there is no telling when he can play or if he will be able to play any this season.:prrr:

    • This is huge may not be a trap game but this plays a major part in what they want to do. If we can get some pressure on Sam we know what he does with pressure coming hit and heavy. Also we may be able to take the top off their defense a backup safety trying to stop TMac or Cooker over the top or forcing him to play the backend should allow us to run the ball somewhat effectively. Either they allow some runs or we take some shots and if Bryce and whoever can connect deep we’ll be in business for another big time win against a top notch opponent. Might not be a trap game but health travel game plans all play a major role in each weeks game plan and this week might be leaving our way. We’re missing some replaceable pieces they’re missing key anchors to the offense and defense major difference time to solidly ourselves at one of the top teams in the nfc tomorrow fellas buckle up.
    • Yes.  If I am not mistaken, we need to sign Coker to the ERFA tender and insist that XL spends his spring and summer at a WR camp and not Coon huntin on his four wheeler.  XL was raw when we picked him--which is why I wanted to go another direction--and we are seeing how raw.  He is basically learning a position.     The Panthers will make their move in 2026 to be an NFL powerhouse behind Bryce.  Bryce needs intelligent WRs who catch the ball.  That said, we need a solid #2 to challenge XL and make cutting him easy, if necessary.  A #2 WR (intented to be a #1 by now) with under 400 yards is embarrassing.   On offense, you have to ask, "Where can we get better?"  In my view, #2 WR, TE (although they are improving) and maybe C (again, if we re-sign Mays, he is trending up and at 26, entering his prime--I say stay with him and find competition later in the draft (not good for C).  OL depth maybe?  In other words, XL is a glaring weak spot.
