Panthers Offensive "Woes" Start up Front

After last year, I thought our strength would be our OL and the running game and the weakness would be defensive line and pass rushing. Well was I wrong, seems our strength has became our weakness. Yeah, Otah is out, but we have dealt with injuries before. The problems the Panthers have had scoring is directly related to the play of the OL. Penalties have been the main problem, but the run blocking is a concern as well. Seems like when we have a good drive going or have a long pass play... you start looking for a flag. False starts and holding have killed this team not only on 3rd down conversions, but starting a drive 1st and 15 isn't much better. Just think of the pass plays that would have given us a 1st down, rather than move us back 5 or 10 yards. :mad2:

Yea Everyone is busy crying about Matt Moore and the receivers but this has been the real problem. Give a QB 3rd and 10s and 3rd and 11s every drive and ofcoarse he is going to struggle That was the problem vs Tenessee. With constant looks of 9 in the box we might have to start looking to throw more on 1st and 2nd down.

The Oline did fine we wasnt really trying to run much during preseason. I have no worries with it.

You must be nuts! (Sorry no pun intended!!!) We have had 1 long run by the first team and that was credited to the FB. Gross has been awful in the preseason and the rest of the OL is nothing to brag about. Just seems like the QB's and WR are at fault for the lack of scoring.

That's what happens when you take a massive run blocking offensive line, leave them without help in a 4 or 5 wide set and expect them to pass block. Except for the 3 or 4 other run first teams that are left, the rest of the NFL has been doing this for awhile. On offense, they're experienced in the little tricks and traps that force teams to pay when they send more than you can block. Us? Not so much. That's kind of been the whole point of our pass first preseason. The OL needs this practice just as much as the QBs and WRs. We'll go back to what we do best when the regular season starts, and hopefully we'll be more effective in the pass game after Double Trouble runs right by a few overload blitzes. The roster being set and eveyone knowing what role they are supposed to play will also help.

What I worry about with all these young players is that (just like a lot of posters on here) they need some positive things to happen so they can see the light at the end of the tunnel to move forward with their development.

When did all this happen? On 3rd and 15?
